Fellas, I have KEYS!!!! And they have a little horsey on them!!!

Don't have the car yet, but I have the KEYS!!!

    :)

    Boy am I pathetic!!!

I was all giddy this afternoon as I got home from a business meeting in Chicago to find a FedEx package waiting for me with inches of receipts, the signed title, and a set of Ferrari keys!!!

The car is on its way here as we speak. It is paid for and insured. Getting it registered tomorrow. I have pics of it on the truck (like 10 of them!!) sent by the ex-owner and have been staring at them for the last 15 minutes. Sad!!

I will be staring at those keys long into the night.

I get the car Saturday afternoon!! Black and tan 328 GTS.

Oh yeah, while at the meeting in Chicago, my boss's boss out of New Jersey told me they were giving me a promotion while we were at dinner. He said my boss was going tell me during my mid-year review in a few weeks, but figured this was as good a time as any.

Then, right when I walked in the door the wife came up and gave me a kiss and said she had steaks thawing in the refrigerator and then said she wanted to have a whole lotta fun tonight after dinner.

Not a bad week so far!!

But let's not forget the big news.................I have KEYS??!! :)

:) the "stare at the keys thing", this will grow and fester into the blank "stare at the Ferrari's in the garage " thing, which will happen. now that you are bitten ( smitten?) its too late. having the little prissy pony on the key chain makes it worse, i have a really beat up original '70's Ferrari keychain i use on my house / daily driver keys. friends and co workers have accused me of daydreaming with the nissan keys in my hand, because it has the Lorioli ferrari keychain on it. :) wait till the car gets here, you take parts out of the ferrari boxes and papers, and you hesitiate trying to throw the empty boxes and ferrari papers away  .

I agree. Life IS good. I put in an extra rambling of thank-you's to the big guy upstairs tonight at the dinner table.

I know I am going to be a hopeless case. I have already been looking for those cheap, canvas, fold-up chairs in red. I already have the Ferrari patches picked out. The wife is going to sew the patches on and I am going to keep them in the garage right next to the car for "viewing purposes".

Saturday morning, I am getting up and cleaning out the garage one last good time. Then, I am arranging the Ferrari banners she got me. And then I am going to sit in the driveway on a chair and wait for the truck to come.

That pretty much sums up my day till it comes. Oh yeah, I am also going to Autozone in the morning to get my cleaning essentials (ArmorAll's tire foam is a MUST!!, some Water-Wetter, etc). I wouldn't THINK to touch it with the old "used" stuff I used on the Porsche!! :)

Maybe I'll just get some Ferrari keys. Maintenance has got to be less than if you actually get the whole car.

    been there! ;)
Better than using them for the F-car keys -- especially a 328.

Hint: Get a keychain that lets you separate the keys -- you get frustrated when you can't open the console box because the key is on the chain with the ignition key -- in the ignition. Rather than shut down the car to get to your garage door opener (you don't want to leave it on the visor in a GTS), ...

Congrats !!! The feelings won't go away, they only get worse after you get the car. Only they may change a bit. Having a supportive wife...priceless. I have totally the opposite. Makes things very difficult at times. Its difficult to decide on which one may have to go. :D ENJOY!!!

I have a Titanium gear shifter from Hill Engineering, but no car yet to put it on! I've recently had several 328s fail inspections. Oh well, it still feels good in my hands and it makes a great-looking paper weight on my desk...

Hey Husker, It's just a car!
At least that's what a guy I know told me while I was waiting for my boxer!
Heh heh, no ride for him. I'll just leave him with his taurus with the busted out side window!
And don't worry, the sleepless nights will slowly desolve into looking out in the garage just to take one last look before bed (yes, it's actually here), and then poping out of bed again about 3am just to make sure that it really is here (Oh My God it Really is here)! (Wonder if anyone would care if I take it for a quick blast?)
I don't know if this, ah, problem, really gets any better, (And I'm not sure you can call this a 'Problem', or if it Can get any better!) because after only 3 weeks of owning mine, I had to go back to the ship I work on for 60 long days! Couldn't bring the car, so I loaded up my laptop with about a hundred pics, and a couple videos I'd made, (Yeah, throttle punched, 1st, 2nd, and 3rd gear, Ansa howling, Carbs howling, Me smiling) just to keep me company!
So for now, I can't pop out to the garage at 3am to check out the car, and I can't take my red rocket for a ride, but I can play the video, and do, at 3am, (Yeah, Full Blast Volume) so enjoy the thrill of expectation, and enjoy the great rides to come!
Can't say if the excitement ever fades away, but really don't care if it doesn't!
    Congratulations, and Enjoy!

have ferrari keys on Lorioli keychains that are in great shape. i was going to get a "Dino" one for the Dino, but i really want a break form the V8's for a year or so and get a Lambo, just because i want one for a short time! i had the Dino sold to a guy in California this week, but its titled as a 1975, even though the data plate says October 1974. that means its not exempt from Cali's new draconian emissions laws. i would rather be honest and loose the sale than have the bad Karma come back on me later :) .

    good advice about the keys!

also as time wears on, the cars will stop you dead in your tracks from time to time when you see them from funny angles and under different lighting. you notice different lines on the car over time that you never saw before, i swear!

    Judge,
This makes up for that Ferrari "deal" I lost out to you on right??!!

    Kurtis,
She is an AWESOME wife!! She even planned her Saturday around my car. She is going to her parents in the morning while I tidy up the garage (i.e. leaving me alone in my frenzied state!!) then she is coming home to "help me wash and detail my car." Gotta love that!!

    JTR,
You have a sickness. And there is no cure!! :)

    Mike,
Actually mine is black. Would be even a better match if we are ever driving together right?? :)

    Dave,
I'll post em when I get em!! :)

I will get you the # when I find em!!

I think so. You should be happier with the performance of a 328 compared to the QV.

    Enjoy.
