    I didn't realise there was an exciting part of current f1 races...... I suppose the start is about the only part of the race where there are genuine passes for position.... even so, unless they reset the whole series Mercedes will win every championship anyway

    We need T cars !!

    But, the race must be stopped due to the accident blocking the track like happened last weekend, otherwise continue on under the safety car ........... or the Ferraris have hit each other :p

    Rolling starts are completely boring. No one cares.

    And a rolling start would still face the same problem of the first corner where most of the crashes occur

    I do agree the teams should have a T car but it's expensive.

    T cars would have made no difference here. The race wasn't stopped so no one could have got into a spare car even if they had one.

    I'm not so sure. If a T car was available they may be more willing to do a red flag stop. As there were no cars then they just continue to go around and keep the TV schedule.

    There was no question that as soon as the 2 Ferraris were off they dropped viewership. I was one!

    I watch very little F1 and know even less than that. But... what about a motocross style start? May have to modify the track a bit. :)

    Hello, please note that half the purpose of restarts was to actually take benefit of the spare cars so everyone would benefit from a second chance...but with TV schedule pressure pushing for the cancellation of restarts from scratch (or an aggregate 2 segment race if more than 2 laps had been run) AND the pressure to cut costs all that went the way of the Dodo yeeeeaaaaars ago...

    Yes to standing starts,

    With current engine regulations, a spare car would have to have the engine from the original car in order to keep inside the 5 engine regulations.
    So, No to T cars.

    Besides, it was Vettel's fault he took out Kimi and Verstappen. {And basically blew this years WDC}

    Yes to standing start in dry or wet conditions.

    No return to T-car.

    No swerving or "chopping across" allowed at the start.

    If drivers aren't allowed to swerve on the track during the race, they shouldn't be allowed to block others at the start.
