A couple of months ago, and my first journey in my car as I drove it home from Graypauls to Kent. I stopped for fuel at Newport Pagnell services but then had problems with the alarm. I couldn't lock the car when I went to pay and then I couldn't de-activate the immobiliser once it had timed out meaning it wouldn't start. Eventually, I did get the immobiliser de-activated, and put the experiance down to me not knowing the system, pressing the buttons too many times and generally arsing the alarm up.

However, on my way home from Silverstone on Sunday, the exact same thing happened, only it took longer to sort out.

Coincidence, or the x-files. Has anyone else had this problem as I think I will get my petrol elsewhere in future!

There is a car park spot in Wandsworth Town that makes the zappers on my 360 and M3 not work, cant open or lock them. move it one space in front or behind, no problems ! Weird !

Phenomenon is well documented. Often due to a transmitter like a Taxi company nearby. I had to open my SLK "mechanically" on a car park in Edinburgh once. You'll sometimes find that moving the car a few feet will make a difference.

I had trouble once unlocking a BMW at Ally Pally in London. After getting the AA out, between us we relised that it was the SNR (Signal to Noise Ratio) between my transmitter and a mobile phone mast near by, i.e. the 'noise' from the mast hiding the signal from the key-fob. Had to get down right next to the alarm to unlock it.

Has a simliar problem at a service station some months later - can't remember which one, and sure enough there was a mobile phone mast near by.
