Wow... I find this quite unsuspected. I would have sworn you would decide to keep the 812. What do you know, it all comes down to personal preference. I am one that wishes to have your problem. I would have kept my already owned (but not in my hands yet) F8 and get the 812. Although, I get that buying an 812 would be getting the big brother of my F8. I am not racing anytime soon, therefore, I don't need a Pista (and yes, I know you don't have to take the car to a track and it can be driven on the street). There are some other factors that swayed me towards the F8. However, if my options were Pista versus the V6 Turbos toaster. I would most definitely get the Pista. So I can comfortably say, that the reason for me not to own a Pista, is the F8.

Lastly, don't blame yourself for actions of others. We have a very good group of people here, some with strong opinions and strong passions for what they believe in than others; and sometimes what they say comes across a little harder than intended. It is no big deal. It happens.

I never thought I would like that color on a Ferrari. That is until I saw this picture. WOW

    Yes,i it’s a looker for sure.

CdF is much darker than GS and with some slight brown flecks - would go very well with a TB or Choc interior. Oooh, that would make an awesome 812.

    Sorry didn’t read entire thread.
One of the two should be a spider.

Last Pista ? Our dealer is delivering a Pista next week , not a spider 2021 model.

I was shopping for a Speciale at my dealer but fell in love with a stunning Pista they had in their showroom !?!

Honestly considering selling my quasi brand new F8 as I can't justify having both.

    Emotions or good move?

How do you use the F8? Did you take the Pista for a drive? They are very different.

Except for winter I drive it as much as possible; no track driving. I don't care about the mileage; you only live once.

Owned F430 and 488 GTB prior to the F8. I currently have a RS3 as daily for bad weather.

I love the looks of the Pista; so raw.

Didn't have the opportunity to drive the Pista.

You really need to go drive it. It is so different. When you drive your car a lot, you need also think about how the noise and suspension harshness will work for you.

Everyone's a bit different, and we can only speculate. If it was the only exotic car I had, I would probably take the Pista.

OTOH, with multiple exotics, I can firmly state the STO would not be my car of choice if I had to pick just one. It’s a keeper for tracking and adventure, but not so much fun around town. Zero rear visibility, sound deadening and storage, and a bit stiff.

I did select the F8 over Pista because I want my wife to be able to drive it, and the STO can be used for tracking, which I’m getting into. She won’t go near the STO.

Hey, @Il Co-Pilota, I’m getting the 458 ready for Sebring on Sunday. In the shop now, unfortunately I couldn’t get the Cup 2s and ST disks in time…….

I think if price is not an issue I’d get the pista 10/10 times.

I test drove a Pista and an F8 back to back. Ended up ordering an F8 Spider and price was not a factor as I’m over 550k USD all in on the spider.
They are different, but not different enough to warrant owning both IMO.

I just let go of my F8S and keeping the Pista coupe. I prefer the rawness and sound of the Pista.

  16. If the money side of the transaction (i.e., selling brand new F8 for a Pista) works for you, it's a no-brainer in my opinion.

For what it's worth, I daily my Pista.

What an interesting question, and the following discussion.
I wish I had this problem too!

I see this thread is one year old now...

    We have a winner!

You sir must be a baller. Please give us insight into your F8 s spec.

That said it’s all about the use case. I use all my Ferraris. Even a 16m which I imagine is a bit rawer than the Pista.

I should have bought the Pista I was offered while waiting my my F8 coupe. But who knew.

I didn’t think it was possible and I’m guessing here, but there can’t be an option that wasn’t selected and super premium paint, maybe?

What else? Novitec exhaust and wheels?

I'm not completely sure how the price got there either lol. Due to the car having 12 extra-comps (special requests) on top of regular options, both the dealer and I were unsure of the MSRP until it landed off the boat in NJ. Turns out something was lost in translation and 2 of the exterior carbon options were left off the car. Meaning, the 462,888 msrp on the sticker should have actually read over 470-ish k. We did end up retrofitting those parts at dealer. Here's the spec breakdown.

    Exterior wise is fairly simple:
-Triple layer yellow, I think it was either 36 or 38k for the color and so plus tax is around 40k just for this 1 option.
-I elected every exterior carbon option except for the radiator cooling vent just behind the doors.
-Forged diamond cut wheels with upgraded titanium bolts.
    -tricolore badge on rear deck.
    -front lift

Interior is where I went nuts:
-The bulk of the cost was due to the special yellow leather used on various parts of the seats, doors, under dash, and even the lower rear firewall where the netting is. Many places were left black to create contrast with the yellow. In addition, the seats, steering wheel, and drive mode buttons were given the tricolore treatment as well.
-One final touch to the design was to not only use white stitching throughout, but to also request white leather piping on the seats recessed into the edges.
-As for interior carbon, I went with the door sill/jam, steering wheel, F1 size paddles, and a couple of places on the dash and purposely left the air vents and doors silver metal for aesthetic reasons. I wanted the interior to be as light as airy feeling as possible and didn't want to "black out" too many details with carbon.
    -Race seat with lifter.
    -Passenger display.

There are probably lots of options I missed mentioning, but these are the bulk of costs IMO.
So, we started with a 470k msrp plus taxes = 524k out the door. All I've done in addition to the car so far is lowering and an extensive 2 tone gloss and satin PPF, ceramic coatings on top of PPF as well as on the interior leather, and some fuchsia colored vinyl accents for design.
Total cost of services including the lowering 30k and that's how we've ended up here at 554k total.
I've yet to look into an exhaust since I want to get a few k miles onto the drivetrain before doing so meaning this current number is only going to climb...lol

Oh believe me, it can go much much higher. I did not even get all interior carbon (due to aesthetic reasons) and because it's a spider I did not get any of the engine carbon cause I can't see it. Plus, I don't use apple CarPlay or the stereo and so I didn't even elect those upgrades. At one point, I was considering a painted tricolore stripe from factory but decided against in the end. I think if all standard boxes check plus 12 extra comps. I could easily be at 550k before taxes and well over 600k with. Oh right, I also did not go for the CF wheels which is a big cost to upgrade to (not in love with the looks of them).

Then the price makes more sense. From what I gather, most prices quoted on the forum are MSRP prices without taxes. So by general comparison, a 470 usd car. Surprused to hear that the triple yellow was that much. From what I understand the triple layers were in the 30-32k USD if not a bit less. Does anybody know what the F8 Spider paint price was in the US for four layers like Rksso Magma, Rosso F1 and Rosso TRS?
