Will be installing headers, cats, exhaust, and intake soon on my 97 355. Was wondering if an ECU upgrade is needed? The one I've found is powerchips. Thanks.

A powerchip ECU is not needed for these modifications, the stock ECU will be fine. The powerchip would be ideal for maximum gains however.

what kind of power gains can you expect on the 355 with these bolt-ons? 10-15hp?

Actually, I here are the reasons I bought them:

    Intake: for looks (GruppeM carbon)
Cats: better flow (heard the stock ones get clogged)
Headers: more reliability (heard the stock ones crack)
Exhaust: for sound (love the capristo clips I've seen)

So....I'm not really expecting too much performance gains, but it'll be nice if these products do produce some extra ponies.

do 355s get a lot louder when you change the exhausts? I am hoping to purchase one some day and tear out all the cats and add a tubi exhaust. My friend had a tubi on his 550 and the sound was amazing, and loud enough to break glass.
