"Without the 308..Ferrari as we know it, would have been out of business".

You could say the same thing about the Ford F150.

The 308 is the “Seabiscuit “ of cars , The little horse that won the hearts of the car nation, I get the Mayors point
but the 308 proved the point there is an exception to most rules.

And in time, those old F150s will become classics.

Every car company has a turn around vehical. Chrysler was the mini van, Ford I would say it was the Tarus over the f150. G.M had the Cavalier, and a couple others. Lambo was bankrupt during the last run of the Countach..chrysler and the Diablo saved it. Porsche was in serious trouble before the Boxster and Cayenne..

The link to all of these? Build a higher production lower cost good looking car and people will buy it. That is exactly what Ferrari did. Low cost being a relative term based on the target audience obviously.

A classic car is an older automobile; the exact definitionvaries around the world. The common theme is of an older car with enough historical interest to be collectable and worth preserving or restoring rather than scrapping.Cars 20 years and older typically fall into the classicclass.

I think the definition also varies as per your personal feelings. The 308 is a ****ing ferrari. For me that qualifies as having historical interest to be collectible and worth restoring. Not sure financial value has that much to do with it, but in the words of Tom S. If you buy an old Ferrari and think you paid too much for it.....wait a while!!!!
