Is the 599GTB at the NY auto show?

Did anyone make it to the early show tonight? According to wikipedia - of all places - the 599 will be making its american debut here. Haven't been able to verify that, but I can't wait to see it in person.

 

Is it? It is NOT listed onthe NY Show site....I'm going Sat....I HOPE it's there.

 

It is NOT there. There is a 612 Two tone, 430 Challenge racecar and a F430 Spider. I was pretty dispointed myself along with many others.

 

So what is at the show???

Anything rare/particularly noteworthy?? Trying to decide whether to head up there or not.

 

Spoke with one of the VP's on the way back to NJ on the Ferry....the reason it was not there was due to it not being launched in the US yet, so it was not on display.

The 2 town 612 was pretty cool looking.

just came back from show thanks to kennyg and it was great even if ferrari was disappointing. the 2 tone 612 was embarassing.

porsche was weak too since should have had gt3 and tt but didnt.

aston v8 was really nice and tight but very claustraphobic inside. jag xk convert looks identical to db9 volante at 1/2 price.

audi rs cars with lambo engines very cool. mercedes is totally over the top with 500 hp suv and minivans and 600 hp sedans.

mitsu evo X is very impressive but subaru wins all with incredible driving simulator that was exactly like actual track driving.

How does the dodge challenger look in person? That's one of the main reasons I'm going this year. I used to own a 1970.

 

chrysler-dodge was great. the challenger looks amazing and realistic vs cartoonish camaro. also like the stretch 300 which really is a bentley knock off now. charger srt8 and lowrider versions also hot

about porsche - the new 911 Turbo WAS there, but not at the stand. It was presented during the press days, but then wheeled back into the back area closed off to public on friday. I think sometime this week it is coming back out.

 

The 997 TT is/was being shown to select ppl at a warehouse space at 35th st and 11th, called the "Turbo Lounge".

 

Yes it was there, BUT for some reason it wasn't listed on the web-site.

It's quite a looker.

 

It's nice, but TOO much like the 1970....what I mean is not "modern" enough.
The Camaro is much nicer....even standing around the two displays the Camaro seemed to get much more postive comments.

I hope they make both!
