You can get one new on the showroom floor for MSRP, unlike almost every recent production Ferrari over the past 10 or so years. Commentators have criticized it for being bland or ungainly, being too big, and not have the striking elegance that a Ferrari GT should (I find the rear end a bit too soft but otherwise its nice). However, people also rave about how it drives and it seems to be a massively capable machine.

I saw one on the Washington DC beltway the other day. It was a gorgeous car, black on black with yellow brake calipers, scuderia shields, all the works. Put it plainly, I think the 612 is a beautiful, sexy car that would make a great daily driver or long-distance GT that you could still have fun with. It's quicker than all 2+2s in a straight line except for perhaps the CL65 AMG, by all accounts it out-handles all of its competitors, and it can legitimately seat 4 people. IMO the market hasn't quite given this car its due. Your thoughts?

I was one of many that thought it wasn't that impressive (look wise) when it first came out, now I think its the best looking one in the range. I drove it once at a Ferrari Challenge event at Lime Rock a couple years ago and although it was a drive around the rolling hills surrounding Lime Rock, not the track, it still impressed me, did it $300,000 plus impress me, no. Its just a car thats either out of most people's price range or they rather spend the money on the more sportier models. I'm sure this topic has been discussed before, but I think everyone respects this car without a doubt.

i have a scuderia on order... if the 612 had the same price-tag, i would have gone the other way... the car DOES have a lot of hidden appeal...

The 612 is such great car for a particular type of Ferrari Enthusiast - it's the next step for me although my 456 is going to be a keeper. Rode in Convoy alongside a 612 going through tunnels in Central London - looked and sounded awesome!

A friend of mine recently moved from a Maser Quadraporte to a 612. The 612--while having virtually no back seat--was clearly superior. IT is a wolf in sheep's clothing.

It was surprising good and amazingly elegant.

The 612 is a magnificent car! The best car I've ever driven, to be honest. Of course, I'm a 2+2 guy...

And, I don't think you can get a NEW one off of the showroom floor any more, although you can order one for MSRP. They are now special order only-- not built for dealer inventory.

Just drove a new F430 and a new 612 (with GTS pkg) back to back (both F1) - enjoyed the 612 way more - just as fun, yet comfortable when you want it - perfect for longer drives - actually preferred the exhaust note of the 612 with the GTS pkg to the F430 - that test drive sealed my question right on the spot!

Personally I did not like the 612 when it first came out. I hated the front end but now I don't mind it. As far as the back seats if you are of average height it is absolutely fine for short distances. I read that the new Maserati Gran Turismo was roomier in the back, however after sitting in it I think the 612 is much more comfortable in the back. The thing that killed the Gran Turismo is that the roof curves in too quickly and my head was right up against the side of the roof and I am only 5'9. So unless someone is tall or overweight the 612 is very decent in the back.

As far as the rest of the car the 612 has great performance, great sound, and has a very classy feel to it untill you open it up and then the beast comes out.

Certainly a wolf in sheeps clothing.

The driver was about 6' 4" tall, and said he would've rather had a 430, but he couldn't fit.

That 612, IMO looks like it could be a Novitec 612... it had the 430 10 spoke wheels.... and looks lowered too.

IMVHO the 612 is the best looking Ferrari in the line-up.
