    after reading the reviews of the new amv, and having seen the vanquish and new db9 side by side at our local dealership, i was thinking now similar these cars look...i know the new amv is 12 inches smaller than the db9, but no the road , i could see the two being confused with each other.... as beautiful as the cars are, is aston martin going to canablize sales from it self??? of course, then i though about porsche, and the front of the new boxster , cayman and 997 are similar, but the rear end and general shapes are very different....

    I agree that they all look quite similar. I hope to purchase a V8 Vantage soon and won't mind being mistaken for a (more expensive) DB9 or Vanquish. If / when the car is mistaken for the new Jaguar though ...

    I think that DB9 sales will eat up Vanquish sales for that reason.

    Which is worse though: buying a $230k Vanquish which looks a lot like the $165k DB9, or paying $200k+ for a Fisker that looks like the $100k Vantage?

    Don't you guys think that the VAnquish is a bit of a tank? I mean, it makes a MAranello look lean...

    Very. I think they're both hideous. Ford has ruined Jag, Aston, Land Rover/Range Rover etc

    i personally love every single aston martin. i just find it horrible what they have done to jag. And now the jag will look like an aston, it is just terrible that they could not think of any new design......

    an episode of Top Gear awhile ago had all 3 of them in the showroom and clarkson's comment is basically they look the same. however, look closely and you can see why they look and shape the way they are.

    My observation is:
    Vanquish = Muscular, Aggressive
    DB9 = Buttoned Down, sleek.
    V8 Vantage = Athletic, Toned

    Family resemblance is good. 80% of the people on the street will either not recognize them apart from a porsche or anything. 19% will know its an Aston Martin or the James Bond Car. the rest of the 1% or less might be able to tell them apart without looking at the badge.

    Yes, i agree the person who paid for a Vanquish or DB9 might be a little pissed, especially the DB9 owners whose interior is almost identical...

    But then again, those are also the connoisseurs who enjoys their V12's.

    the new Jag looks not as smart as any of the above.

    Yes. They all look the same , the Vantage even has the same dash as the DB9 . To the lambda buy , why buy a DB9 when you get the same perf , same dash and fresher design for 50 000€ less ?

    From the current range, i would only buy a Vanquish or a DB9 Volante ..

    It is close but I dont think its too close

    The Vanquish is a big handsome Brute like a broadsword

    while the DB9 is supremely beautiful & elegant, like a Sabre

    the DB8 is very nice but not as nice as the 1st 2, I dont know what to compare that too

    A dagger perhaps?

    I do think there is a family resemblence. In this case though, I like all of the cars' designs, so it's ok.

    Sure they are similiar but I think its fairly easy to distinguish which is which and some of the differences. Maybe not for the general public though. I love these cars! My pick would still be the Vanquish out of the current 3.

    I think the biggest problem about the cars is not that they look similar but they have just about the exact same performance. Automobile mag said the V8 just edged out the db9 to sixty, meaning it is should be just as fast as the vanquish s below 100 miles per hour.

    With the new AMV8 showing up just over $100K, I'm wondering what will happen to the prices of recent models such as the DB7 Vantage, DB7 GT, and even the original Vanquish. I suspect selling owners may be in for some shock.
