Have been a owner of a 98 355 Spider for approx 5 years, most likely I would be a owner of a 2001 360 spider within the next week. I have a oil filter in spare home (for the 355) and wounder if this is the same as for the 360 ? I live more than 550 miles from the nearest workshop ( live in Norway and have to drive abroad to change :( and hope that any of you expert can answer me on this. The 360 havent got a oil change since 2006 and I would prefer to change as soon as possible even if the car has a low milage.

    Best Regards Jostein from Norway

If the part number on the filter is Purflux/197654, you're fine.

Thanks for answer, but the part no is 191462 (Purflux LS 925). So maybe I cant use it then ?

That is the old number. Ferrari superseded with 197654. The old one is probably fine... but if you can find a new one locally (and easily), I'd go that route. For $40-$50, it's cheap insurance.

Thanks for info, I would have no problem buying new if it was available, but I have to order from another country. There is not currently any auhorised Ferrari dealer in Norway. Is it possible to order one from yourself? I have a paypal account.

    Best Regards Jostein

    Hi Jostein,

My 355 had a major in 2004 (Ferrari Main Distributor in France) and oil filter 191462 was fitted by them. When I started buying (and fitting) my own filters etc I noticed that the correct filter for the 355 is 197654. I looked up the data and discovered that the 191462 is the filter for the 360!
So, IMO, the filter you have "for your 355" is actually the filter recommended for the 360. In short, you are in business!!

I am sorry, but that is not correct.

191462 was indeed a 348, 355, and 360 filter at one time. It has been superseded to 197654. The CORRECT current number for 348, 355, 360, Mondial t is 197654.

No Daniel, it is me who is sorry. Our replies crossed. If I had read your reply #5, I would have not responded with my experience. I replied in good faith.

They look pretty similar and are apparently interchangeable.

It's probably a good idea to put another back on the shelf for the next time.

YES, yes... I agree, they are interchangeable and WILL WORK. My only point is that Ferrari changed something enough to warrant a new number (197654), and obsolete the old ones. Could be packaging, could be the standpipe, it could be boredom on the part of somebody at Purflux ;) Nonetheless, the old numbers are gone and that actual 'old' filter cannot be purchased anymore as New Stock.
