I've noticed that every single 348 that I've known or looked at has a good bit of the black worn off of the accelerator pedal. On a 20K miles car, it sure makes you wonder if the car doesn't have twice or three times that many miles. What's up with this?

Mine is worn like you suggested.
Any tips on repainting the pedal (I think they are satin black).

I took this pic yesterday. Are these "genuine" ferrari pedals in my 348?? Or aftermarket pedals? Thats what i have got with the car. Dont mind the mess on the floor in the pic

Pap, they're aftermarket pedals probably either "ultimate" pedals or hill engineering

Ah thanks for clearing that up for me. :) They are cool pedals and have a great feel about them when driving. Do all 348's come with black pedals stock?

FOR SHAME!!! Luckily, you have a long holiday weekend ahead of you. Plenty of time to drive. Go wear the paint off those pedals! It's a direct order from the brotherhood.

    Aftermarket as suggested.

Standard accelerator pedal is black painted metal. Clutch and brake pedals are metal with black rubber covers on each.

Hey Andrew. I love my pedals. I think they are great. I have a size 13 foot,so sometimes i tap the brake pedal accidently as i push in the clutch pedal :p Its only a minor tap,i dont hit it hard and lock the brakes up or anything. Before i bought the car, that was my major issue,if i couldnt fit my fat feet down there to drive the car properly,i wasnt going to buy a 348 :( But as you can see, worked out great! In the pic,i pulled the mat out, hence the crap underneath it. Im going to give it a good clean inside tomorrow,im on days off now,so i have plenty of time to do so. I have black floor mats that are still brand new. Cheers :D

A good thick powder coating will usually last longer than paint.

This is kind of embarrassing to admit, but as a “temporary” fix on my 308 I put a length of 1 ¼” wide black plastic electrical tape over the pedal. It stretched over the edges so no trimming was necessary and you’d need to crawl down in the footwell with a flashlight to see it isn’t paint. So far it’s lasted several hundred miles and looks good as new.

..... and if a fire were to start in your footwell, then your accelerator pedal would be insulated (he he).
