I'm thinking at the end of the summer driving season when some folks are thinking "store it Vs. sell it?".

Or is this incorrect? Would like to hear from individuals who have been looking for a while now over the course of various seasons.

Not by season but the 15% capitol gains tax ends in 2010 and between now and then will be a buyers market

Looking at an annual calender, not tax laws, yes that is usually a good time to buy. Also depending on where you live, more true up north, dealers will have less going on in the winter and will spend more time tracking down a car to make money during the slow time of the year.

Depends what you're looking for. If you want a 360 in red, winter isn't a bad time to look because thousands of these cars are just going into storage, and there's an ample supply year round so plenty of opportunities.

If you're looking for a blu sera '77 308, and you find a good one, you need to buy immediately and not worry about slight seasonal price fluctuations.

Best time to buy: When (a) the first flurries have hit, (b) everyone is selling their used Ferraris to get on the waiting list for a 360 (the new model), and (c) the dot-coms collapse. :D

(And, as an added incentive, in '99 there weren't any good new cars available in the US.)

The best time to buy is when you are ready, have the money available and the time to drive it. Everything else is just logistics.

First - be ready to buy and back up your offer. Second - January/February is good because Holiday bills have piled up and(in the north) the next ride is a long way off. Have used this for cars, boats and aircraft

I have bought a lot of my cars in the winter months as a pick me up. I just hate the cold and looking for a car cheers me up. Being on a computer in the winter also passes the time quicker. I also thing the prices are better.
