    He's The Man, I gather, who has controlled Ferrari's production car side (maybe he controls the racing, too, I don't follow that). He's on Wikipedia

    If he is not yet been biographied, I'd like to know-- maybe I could write one. He looks like quite a dynamo who has stood the test of time in the auto industry and made Ferrari quite profitable but on the other hand the guy who made Porsche very profitable just got fired, so it's not easy to stay on top

    He actually managed the F1 team for Enzo back in the day.....

    So he's been a trusted associate of The Man, all along!


    I agree he's quite the interesting personality and always enjoy the interviews, his son was working in the World Trade Center and returned home only weeks before 9/11.....

    A very interesting man with an outstanding trackrecord in management!
    Luca was also the chairman of the 1992 world championship soccer in Italy.
    Gianni Angelli recognised his talent in the 1970's

    I would buy the biography!

    I was thinking of a book more in the vein of how decisions are made about new products and promotion,
    for instance, wasn't he the one who says when asked "How many are you going to make of such and such model" answers "One less than the market demands."

    I think car marketing is an art more than a science and sometimes the
    details are the devil. For instance, I saw a Pontiac GTO today, a newer one and I thought it's a pity Bob Lutz couldn't get the hood scoops on it that first year as it looks awfully tame, and as a result it wasn't a big hit, so even a "genius" like Lutz can't get that big ship GM to turn on a dime and do it right the first time, but Luca seems to get it right time after time (judging by the waiting lists for new Ferraris and money people pay on top of the base list price)
