    Hello all,

I've had my 355 gts for a few months now and enjoying it. I just took it in for a service to take care of a list of items. Then next week out for full detail.

My question is, and after searching, is there a consolidated list of things to be checked at certain time or mileage intervals? A really good service reference guide.

    Thanks in advance!

    Johnny,

That's a beautiful GTS. Congratulations! Drive it in good health.

Follow the maintenance schedule outlined in the last section of your Owner's Manual.

    Thanks Barry.

Is there also a good list of items that may not be included. "Just in case" stuff?

    John,

The published maintenance schedule is a good guide for proper maintenance of your GTS. Common sense dictates what's best for your car. I'll give you an example. I tracked my 1995 F355 Challenge for two seasons until it was time for an engine-out major service. In that time, I saw an F355 Challenge catch fire due to a fuel line connection failure and another drop all its oil on the track as a result of a ruptured oil line. My car suffered a split coolant hose (the upper 90 degree elbow coolant hose just aft of the firewall). My pit crew had access to it and replaced it as soon as my engine cooled enough to permit the replacement.

When it was time for my major service, I had all those 19 year-old coolant hoses (with the exception of the one that was just replaced) and oil lines replaced. The fuel lines, which are shielded and low-pressure, did not need replacement and connections were tightened and are now routinely examined prior to each event.

Make sure your technician is fully familiar with your car and encourage a two-way discussion of any concern that might arise. I'm fortunate in that I have my car serviced and track supported by a technician who was involved with the development of the 348 Challenge and F355 Challenge while he was with FNA at that time in his career.

    Barry
