I tried a UHAUL trailer when I first got my 86 TR. I had two cars to bring from Charlotte to Orlando, the TR and a Jag XJS-12. I was going to tow the TR and drive the Jag, but the TR just wouldn't fit. The Jag did fit, so ended up towing it and contracting with shipper with lift gate for low clearance vehicles (Exotic Car Transport) for the TR. They did a great job.

probably easier to have a tow company take it for you

its probably too wide for a Uhaul trailer

U-Haul trailers are both too high and too narrow. TRs are low and have enough front overhang that you would need a long ramp. I trailered mine once using a colleague's custom made trailer; he had extra long ramps made to accomodate his Porsche, and my car just barely cleared them.:)

    rskdsk,
Get a professional to bring your car home, or drive it home if your Ferrari technician gives you the thumbs up after the PPI.
Don't misunderstand me, but I still get the idea that you are wanting to cut corners in your acquisition of a car which could be a total financial nightmare if you don't do it right. Stop referring to 'deals' when you ask about TRs or any potential maintenance intensive cars! Be willing to overpay for a sound specimen if you have to; you might catch a little ribbing over that...but only once!
Much sound warnings and advice has been given you since your arrival to F-Chat. Please listen to these guys whom I also respect greatly.
    Best:)

Mostly too low. I was able to get the TR up on the trailer with board/ramps and working the incline, but it was still too low on the trailer itself.

You can put a TR in most standard trailers with a beaver tail, but there is very little room between the wheel wells and the doors, so a winch saves you from having to climb out the window. Also, you need to put 3-4" blocks under the tailgate if it doesn't come with them, and ramps up to it. You can get exact dimensions of the car at www.red-headed.com.
