Is there a Washer that goes onto the oil sender on a 308??? When it came out I did not notice one, BUT?! A few minutes later a washer fell out of the sky in the vacinity of the sender and in a size I cannot account for. Do not see one in the parts book I have, so I am asking the stupid question. mwr
I removed both oil sensors last week and yes there is one on both the temp and the pressure sensor. The washer is quite tight and doesn't look like it would fall off that easy. If its of any interest to anyone the oil temp is an M14 1.5 pitch and the oil pressure is M18 1.5 pitch. 1st pic temp 2nd pic pressure Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
I replaced all three oil-related senders a couple of months ago. There's no washer on the temperature sender (this is the one that screws in to the front edge of the sump). It doesn't sound as if you have removed this one ... right? There is definitely a washer on the two senders that attaches to the oil filter housing. You don't even want to think about re-installing these without new washers. If you don't, you'll almost certainly get a small oil leak ... I speak from experience!
Sorry I got mixed up. The 1st pic is the warning light sender for the dash (fits the back of the oil filter housing). I just removed the temp sender from my sump and there wasn't a washer on it.
