    Any Eye Doc’s out there?

I have a strange glitch with one of my eyes. I have what looks like a tiny black “hair” that appears visible whenever I look around, but disappears when I’m focused on something. It’s not irritating and I have nothing in my eye. This has been going on for the last couple days. I have an appointment with an eye Doc but wanted to get an idea if this is worth a visit. I’m sure it has nothing to do with a recent opportunity I had to drive a friend’s F40. The G’s you pull in 0-60 acceleration cannot stress the cornea, can they? ;) Perhaps it was the stress of giving the keys back to him.

    Thanks

If you start getting hair on the palm of your hand, I can help diagnose the cause. :)

Seriously, sounds like you might look at this:

EDIT: Actually, the description is what I meant to reference, not the bullsh!t herbal treatments this site promotes. I should have read the whole thing prior to linking it.

I agree it is most likely a floater they are harmless. You should go to an eye doctor anyway.

Have him check via stethsoscope your cartoid arteries, listening for blockage; sometimes plaque breaks off and finds its way into the vessels in the eye causing black (as opposed to clearish 'floaters') specs to appear in the vision field.

My mother went to 3 eye docs re: same type of symptoms; the one who discovered the problem being an Opthamologist, not an Optometrist.

3 weeks later she had a massive stroke while waiting for surgery to clear the cartoids.

My guess though is its a minor issue, (depending on your age, lifestyle and family history will deterimne the blockage risk factor).
