Somebody on another forum asked me this question - he said he just went to Maranello three weeks ago and they did not have an F40 on display.

I cannot imagine that - it being the last road car made while Ferrari was alive...

He wondered if they had loaned it out to another show or something - I did not think they ever loaned out the museum cars for outside display.

    Anybody know more about this?

I believe it is the other way around. Ferrari loans cars from costumers/collectors to put on display. Im sure normally there is a F40 present.

That could very well explain it - and it would be typically Ferrari.

    I don't remember seeing a a 288, an F-40 or an F-50 last time I was there. I did see an Enzo.

The display has moved since I saw it. When I walked up the stairs, I was staring at the rear of the Enzo. It was 90* from the stairs. In this picture, it has been moved since I was there.

    Well, thanks everybody.

I had somehow just assumed that the Ferrari organization actually OWNED all these cars...

I saw one in 2010 but there was a sign on it that stated it was on loan from someone. It was a *very* used car!

Safe to say the Ferrari museum is in a constant state of change. When I was there in May 2012 there was no F50, the Enzo was in the room with the boat, and an F40 and 288 GTO were tucked in a corner together upstairs.

Yep. All of these pictures are different than my last visit.

Here is what my friend photographed there on his visit (and believe it or not, he did not know that I owned a Testarossa at the time he did it):

It was different by July. I don't recall seeing the F40. The 288 was in the stairwell all by itself.

The stairwell platform had a beautiful dark grey Daytona Spider during my visit, but sadly they felt the need to leave the top up.

Also, I don't know the date this photo was taken but I'd have loved to see the Mythos concept and it wasn't present when I went. :(
