Don't get me wrong, I love my car, however the only thing I would love more of would be some more torque. It just feels a bit "thin" in it's power delivery. The engine on the the new 430 is the only thing/reason that would tempt me into buying a 430. Maybe I should transplant a 430 engine into the CS! The other option is that I can somehow knock another 150kg off the weight(Carbon fibre all the body panels!!!)

yep, that did it for me. while i loved the CS (sold two weeks ago), i nearly completely ceased driving it after the CGT arrived. it really ruined the CS for me which was held in very high esteem previously. most of the diff is the power the fact it has a real manual. the convertible part was nice too.

I had an opportunity to drive a Stradale with the Eurotek ECU's and found alot more torque with that set up. I am still waiting to do it to my car but it definitely had a major impact. I'm sure I will get it done in the future. This car also had the Capristo Level 3.

a friend of mine put high flow cats on his and picked up 30 rwhp and 50 lbs of torque! i'm fairly certain the ECU is planned for the not too distant future.

A 9500rpm redline and another gear, too big a gap between 1st and 2nd. More horsepower would be nice but if I want real speed I just hop on my 1000cc superbike, an automobile won't cut it.

Ben LJ, I'm sure you've answered this question before somewhere on this board, but how does the CGT's front end hold up on real roads? I'm considering one because it is such a superb, unique machine but I have reservations about using it without thinking about whether I'm going to bash the front end over every road imperfection.

    Many thanks,

to give you an idea how mine is driven, it is currently at the dealer getting all four tires replaced as well as the front pads - at 2500 miles! as well, the typical fcar for sale description language of "never seen rain" does not apply to my car(s). with that preface, i'll tell you there was no damage whatsoever under the car despite all the "noise" when bottoming out from time to time. i think the $500 little plastic piece on the bottom of the front bumper (where the CS SHOULD have one) is making the noise while protecting the rest of the more important stuff - ie: carbon fiber.

btw, why is cost of the pads for the ceramic brakes on the CGT a fraction of what ferrari gets for the CS's? the total production for both cars will be similar so the usual "limited production" BS rationale from ferrrari does not apply.

Good question. An even better one would address the cost of the Porsche PCCB pads, which I've heard are even higher than the CS, are they not?

no, that's my point. porsche PCCB's ran me $325/wheel which i believe is considerably less than the CS's.

Interesting. I'd always heard the Porsche PCCB pads were more than CS pads. What are you CS guys paying for pads? How does the Porsche disc replacement cost compare to CS?

discs for the CGT are $7k but that's more expensive that the GT3/2 which have smaller discs. if memory serves, the CSs are closer in size to the GT3/2s. also if memory serves, a front brake job on the enzo is $30k vs. $15K+ a couple hours labor on the CGT. same size ceramic brakes on those two.

Ben LJ, many thanks, that's what I wanted to hear- real life experience, not journalist speculation. And from the sound of your driving style, it seems the clutch has not been the fatal flaw many others have found it to be.

    Many thanks again,

Ben LJ, what is the cost to replace pads on the CS? I mean after awhile i would assume only front pads would be needed as they would be used up sooner than backs. But Rotors should last an extremely long time, i would think? Im guessing the cost should be aroun 1k total for both fronts, am i not even close? IF NOT I MAY JUST START DOWN SHIFTING MORE!!!!

yep, i can't understand why the smaller CS ones are 50% more than the CGT ones. what kind of wear have you gotten out of yours?

lol, yeah and that goes double on the CGT whose (ceramic) clutch is a ludicrous $25k installed vs. more like $4500 on the CS.
