Is something is not right here? It says its an 81 308 GTSI. It looks like one from the inside and some of the side. But the front is definitely 328. I should know I had a 328! The VIN reads euro. What do you think? Like it or hate it? I'm kind of on the fence.

No grill above headlamps suggests 328 but i am not sure about the side profile, and the euro 328 did not have side markers, here is another 328 below and they look identical.

Some people will surely hate it... It's definitely not for everybody, but since 99% of non-Ferrari people wouldn't know a 308 from a 328 anyway, I think it's fine.

Well that is a 308 interior, the 328 below is subtly different.

Well, definitely a 328 front end on it, and definitely a 308 by the doors, interior, A pillar. I would look very closely for crash history, the front end must have been knocked off at some point.

Nice looking car. If the front end has been swapped for a 328 front end it would make the car less valuable in my opinion. Maybe it could be had for around $24k? If so I think it would be an okay deal. Not one I would go after. I would be afraid of poor drive characteristics from a previous accident.

    FWIW,

The anterior side marker is in a slightly different position along the length of the car.

Not sure what's going on here.

The interior is QV. I'm guessing an 83 becasue the A pillars are black. They became body color in 84. The louvers over the 1/4 windows are also 328, solid color, not silver highlighted.

    What's the VIN?

Also, they are QV wheels. The mirrors are from an 88 or 89 US 328.

Actually, they look highlighted to me. Just my PC perhaps?

I agree with you, VIN will settle it. Definitely somebody's FrankenFerrari

Yep, Vern, good eye--looks like you can just see the tip of a Euro rear bumper sticking out. Also, note the protruding exhaust tips. I believe that Euro 308s and some aftermarket US 308 exhausts (ANSA, maybe others) had this characteristic.

Car is definitely a mix on the outside. It looks like the entire front clip is 328. Other pieces (like the mirrors) are 328. Doors are 308 (vertical latches handles).

Also, the 328s seem to have a lot of black trim all around the low part of the car, most notably the rear panels behind each wheel. This car does not have that, so I'd say the back end is a all 308.

It's pretty clear that this thing is a 308 with a 328 front end... Kind of a weird mix and I don't think there's anything particularly valuable about it, it seems like something of a hack and almost for sure the catalyst of the whole affair was a demolished front end...

As a rough guess, everything else is OK, I'd say market MAYBE somewhere 2/3 of what this 308 would have gone for otherwise?

Actualy it is very possible. I have a friend who lives in France and he has a friend that owns a 208 GTS turbo. They were also mixed designs between 308 and 328 in the early and mid 80's. It kind of looks like that picture.

On my '78 the "slider" lever next to the ventilation sliders is the choke. What is this lever on injected cars?

It's not a 208, they have NACA ducts in the rear quarters that aren't present on this car

missed that, was looking at the front end lines....

Rear of a 308 front of a 328....could it be that both front ends are the same
    and could be interchanged ??

I don't know if you heard this before but your Enzo quote shows up all the time, often worded differently each time, and has not been able to be credited to Enzo? In fact, I think that there is a standing $100 for anyone who can find where Enzo said it. So far, it appears that it is just an urban legend that he said that. If you know he said it and have the source, you can make a quick $100 and prove that it's not urban legend. Here's your chance.
