is this a 355 challenge bumper

Hello,
I posted this in the 355 section but figured Id ask here as well.

I am trying to identify this bumper that came on my 98 GTS Need to repair the damage on the bottom and repaint it So figuring out what its made of would be nice but as It may look like fiberglass I want to be sure.

I haven't been able to find any photos of a challenge bumper from the inboard side.

Looks like an aftermarket bumper

 

Thats what I am trying to figure out challenge or aftermarket.

Do you have any photos of a challenge bumper ?

 

know its lighter......but what are the actual changes that differentiate a challenge from an oem bumper?

If it is fiberglass then it is most definitely after market...

Original Ferrari Factory CH bumper is carbon fiber....it also does not have any mounting points for fog lights.

Factory CF bumper before painting weighs approx. 9-9.5 lbs....if my notes are correct

 

Thats what makes me thing an aftermarket re pop

 

Im pretty sure now that its a fiberglass repo thats the pattern I see looks like fiberglass normal weave too.

Also found a paint chipped area that shows the weave and its golden colored, it looks like a normal fiberglsss pattern plus apears to have white gel coat under the paint chip.

So not carbon fiber and its more than 9 lbs

Johnny another thing that sticks out(no pun untended) is the side marker recess is not molded into the bumper....the light is just surface mounted.
This may be a euro reproduction as the USA repro units have the recess area.

 

Yeah the side markers were added when it was imported to the states. Something im concidering losing.

 

The oem front skirt of my 98 challenge looks certainly different. You can see lots of kevlar on the unpainted inner part and it's a LOT lighter than the standard gfk ones. From my pov yours is certainly not an original challenge part.
