I love an open top car - just sold my GTS. I'm ready for a 12 cyl. and am in lust for a 456 but cringe at the thought of being cooped-up in a coupe!

So, my thought is (thus the "bone-head" reference) would it be just awful if I had a sunroof installed? I would only have a "top-of-the-line" power roof installed, making sure that it will look as much like factory as possible (even though there is no such thing).

Cost would not be a consideration - within reason, of course, and I wouldn't consider doing a full blown convertible conversion, as that would be way too costly and probably destroy the value of the car.

So, whadda y'all think? To roof or not to roof - that is the question.

    BTW - looking for 95 - 97 456 GT M - anyone?

    TIA - SMC

Personally, I would not do it, but to each his own.

I don't think it is terrible as the 456 is not likely to be extremely collectable.

If you do it, accept that the resale will drop by more than the cost of the project, and it might be harder to sell. If I was looking, I would not consider buying it for worry of leaks and rust issues.

It may lower resale, but other than that I do not see it as bone-head.

I, personally, do not care about resale, but you might.

There are some decent 456 convertibles out there, but that does not seem to be your desire. They are expensive to boot.

If done right, it will be great. If done wrong it will be horrible. Know your customizer well. Study his work.
