    Full dog point with such a small hex head and fine thread looks more "hydraulic" or maybe "floor jack" or "air compressor" to me. It's certainly not for clamping as large a physical load as the major tread size could clamp -- more adjustment or guiding function or cheapy clamping, but just guessing..

    Wow hadn't thought of the floor jack!! Come to think of it, it is a Harbor Freight unit some spontaneous disintegration should be expected...thanks for the tip!

    I agree with Steve. It looks like a "guide" or "pin" bolt application to me.

    Also, you can rule it out by checking whether or not it is metric thread ---- if not, then it is definitely not from your 328.
