Is this a good Austin-Healey buy?

    It looks really nice. It's a Mark II, it has the roll-up windows but not the more luxurious interior of the (final version, '65-'67) Mark III. Good Mk. IIIs go for 40K+ these days, and they're a bit more desirable that the Mk. II.

    There was one (Mk. III) at Barrett-Jackson a few weeks ago. Immaculate ground up resto that went (as I recall) for just shy of 60K, but of course that's B-J.

    Good deal? It depends on where the bidding goes. Certainly they're beautiful cars that I would not be surprised to see increase in value. I'd watch it and be tempted to grab it if it goes for less than 30K... (If I didn't already have a vintage British 2-seater).

    Passenger door alignment is off - not surprising because it's old, British and almost definitely redone at some point. At the current bid, it's probably still a good buy.

    Hyman Ltd in St. Louis had/has a really nice one or maybe a couple, and Continental near Chicago (Ferrari dealer...) had one.
