Is this a good deal and fair price for a car that was just serviced and is mechanically perfect? My friend was thinking of checking out this car and it would be his first F car. He talked to the guy who owns it and said he sounded knowledgeable and was fairly nice. He also said he was fine having a PPI done as long as it was local. Is the ecu really the same as that of early 355's and do they make a little more power? Seems like the later cars are more refined then I believed.

    1994 Ferrari 348

    Thanks guys

Seems like an excellent deal, even with imperfect top. I wouldn't say later models are dramatically different from earlier versions, but definitely improved. Personally, I never thought black on black convertibles made much sense. It gets hot in the sun!

Any stickies in the interior? I can't recall if that top is manual or not.. lots of 355 owners have a tough time with the automatic tops and parts are hard to source.

Front bumper can easily be pulled repaired and sprayed. I had similar done to my 348 speciale this spring and with rear bumper respray it was like $900.

Get a copy of what was done and by whom on the last major.

Decent price too to get into it... I know I'd ask more for my speciale.

My guess is that it'll sell quickly to a flipper.

That is a stupid cheap price for this car if its in as good of shape as listed.
Don't wait or like Wade has already said a flipper will jump on it.
The top on all 348 spiders are manual, easy to operate with no automatic mechanical nightmares to deal with.

    Thanks gentlemen,

I thought it was low too, my buddy has been trying to get ahold of the guy and has been getting his VM. I hope it is not sold. How much do you guys think the car is really worth.

    40K?

Without seeing and driving, I'd say $45k realistically. But a flipper will ask $65k or more.

Yeah - It is in the Bay Area. San Bruno is just South of San Francisco.

Set up a time to see in person and drive the car this weekend. Apparently he just got a f430 which he is going to let us check out too. Seems like he's an enthusiast and pretty cool. Will let you guys know how it goes, but I am fairly certain my friends grabbing this thing.

I was even thinking about buying it for myself if my friend shows any hesitation...LOL:)

If I lived in CA I would have looked at it already, and maybe drove it home already too. :)

if I could quick sell my TS I'd be all over this car. I'd really like a tan interior, but around this price I would compromise. Front lip, wheels, even if some sticky parts, easy to fix. I keep the top down on all my cars all summer so top issue is low priority for me. If one could get this car mid $30k's and the recent service is complete and legit..it's a good price. Not much more downside.

Great deal. Hope you grab it. The 46k miles seems to be the only deterrent to a flipper looking to get an easy top dollar on a resale.

If everything checks out, tell your friend to go for it. It won't get any better than that.

    Steal!

Oh, and the spiders are not completely different from the rest of the 348 line. Perhaps slightly improved here and there, but different? Nah. Notable, wheels, gear ratio and exhaust. Engine management is common to a single year of the US 355 - 1995. Other than that, I hit it!

Engine management is the same as all 348s other than the very early ones (1989 models usually). Motronic 2.5 vs 2.7.
