I'd say greed...90k for a 348 that is not particularly rare (not a speciale) and is not low mileage is insane...blatantly trying to cash in on said panic wave...in my mind at least...

Let's see what happens to these car values once the Fed raises interest rates.
    Supposed to happen this year.

I don't see the Feds raising interest rates, if they do it won't be much. But that being said all these cars have their time when they come on to their own. Seriously who would of thought a Dino would get what it gets now, if we did am sure we would of all had one when they were going for 30K, same goes with all these cars, 308's, 328's and yes eventually 348's and 355's will have their day. It is just a matter of time and of course money, keeping them in great shape mechanically and cosmetically is cost in these cars. But eventually you do get your money back, right now AM UPSIDE DOWN!

    $89k for a 19,800 mile 348. I hope they get it.

If you have been thinking of joining The 348 Brotherhood and are able to find a 348 in the $30-$40K range, better snatch it up quick like. I think it's fair to say the 348 sale is just about over. The 348 has been a bargain for quite some time now. Heck it wouldn't surprise me if the 348 starts seeing similar pricing to the 246. So get yours before they are all snatched up.

no way they get 89k for that car...there are still other cars out there for much less $$...hell you could still get a 328 for that kind of $$....i think they're experimenting/getting greedy more than anything else...still encouraging sign

    I don't disagree.

But think of it like home prices. If your neighbor sells there house for more money the comps in your neighborhood go up = your home goes up in value.

Same deal here. If sells for $89k, $88k, $87k, heck even $80k .... GREAT!!! That just means the rest of our cars just went up in value. So in my opinion BRING ON THE STICKER PRICE+! ;)

I just had my right hand drive 93 348ts valued this weekend here in the UK by an official Ferrari center for £60,000 = $90,000. Also there is only 1 right hand drive for sale currently on Autotrader.Co.UK for the same price.
There is 1 right hand drive spider for £90,000 = $135,000.
And to top that a 246gts Dino for £400,000 = $600,000 has just come on the market.
    Go figure:)

Amen, Brother Ernie! As with your example of home values, how many people complain about rising prices of stocks they own? So why should we feel any differently about our cars?

As almost everyone here knows, the 348 really is an excellent car-- one that has yet to achieve its rightful place in automotive history. But from recent press coverage, as well as the current price trend, that may be changing. Seems like all of us should be rooting for that to happen...

Great news Peter, I was beginning to wonder if they would ever move upward significantly, sounds like they have now. Makes me laugh to see what dinos are up at, when I was buying my 348 years ago everyone decried dino's for not being a real Ferrari.....so funny how things change.

In fact every specialist I called said minimum £55,000+ for right hand drive depending on condition. If you can find one that is!
I had 2 independent valuations from separate official Ferrari dealerships and both said £60,000.
Yes it's all good news and when and if they appear they are selling immediately.

If that car is worth 89K, I wonder what I could get it for my one owner 1900 mile car.

looks like its been sitting for a long time...dusty and you can see the sticky parts as well....judging by that it probably needs a major as well

I think it is sold....we'll probably see it up for 200k a month from now after someone spends 5k making it perfect.....

we love ours obviously but it is by far the least loved in the stable...if someone will give over 100k for our 2 owner (bought in 92' with 200 miles) with 5600 miles....we'll sell it in a second

I think it may be a lil' bit too soon for that pricing. Then again, it never hurts to offer it at that price point.

I found the sticker and it was approximately $111,000 with the gas guzzler tax.

    Ron,
I am curious...that is a long term ownership experience...yet only an average of 82 miles per year. I think most of us consider ourselves "drivers" as much as Ferrari owners. How do you feel about your ownership experience with such a low mileage car? Do you feel you still get the same experience from ownership, in spite of the lack of much driving? And hey, ignore my questions, if they are too personal or none of my business....I'm just curious to hear from a low miles owner, as I can't stand just looking at the car....I gotta drive it. I've owned four in the past 15 or 16 years, and put tons of miles on each of them. I think all told, I put just around 60,000 miles between all four...and still working on #4 ;)

But bottom line, I truly appreciate guys like you with the inner strength to hold back, as it provides a nice supply of low miles cars for us to shop from. I recently got a Scud and couldn't believe the lack of miles on it...I'm working on changing that. But I guess the wonder I have is the enjoyment the same? Perhaps your lack of driving makes each time you take it out even more special and memorable?

Thanks for your thoughtful questions and comments. They were much more mature than the usual "get a poster" comments, and I also make it a point not to be critical or judgmental about the way others use their cars. My answer, I guess, would be that we all enjoy our cars/property differently. To me, my car is a conversation piece and something to be admired. And it is gratifying knowing that sometime in the not-too-distant future it will be a restoration reference guide for those doing serious restorations on their 348s. Additionally, it was never purchased as a driver; over the last 22 years I've owned 40 to 45 other cars.

Ron, thank you for the reply. That is terrific to hear your thoughts on your ownership, and I agree, we all have a different way in which we enjoy the ownership experience.
What is your opinion/thoughts on maintenance and preservation? Are you trying to keep the car in "driving ready" condition? Meaning annual fluid changes, replace tires at the 7 or 8 year mark, etc.? Or I you just setting it on stands or blocks and not worrying too much about that stuff?
