They did that very early on with a few cars. Notice there are no reverse lights in the rear lenses. They had to go somewhere.

Looks a like a run of the mill glass car (if a glass car can be called run of the mill), at least according to what I've been able to learn from the Bluemel book: they all had the flat license plate area and the fiberglass bumper with embedded reverse lights and solid amber turn lights.

Curious, where was this pic taken?

    Cheers!

    HA!

I don't think I ever noticed the lack of tag recess before. I suppose I have never seen one without a tag and never paid attention to that detail.

    How about that

That car is a mess: glass rear bumper, glass rear lights and glass license plate zone, but TRX wheels, 328 mirrors and four tips exhaust. What's that?

US cars had a recess for the rear license plate (USA size plates not euro) and no reverse lights in bumper.

Lets be honest here, for all but the most anal of Ferrari enthusiasts, it's not really that big a deal!

The wheels can easily be changed, as can the mirrors and the exhaust - It's not exactly written the car off has it?, nor in reality has it made the car look "a mess".

Right, this is an early car for Europe.

ANSA sport exhaust was a common dealer item.

Even the moisture drain tube, off the radio antenna is there!

Standard Euro Glass backside. The few minor problems are no big deal, to me anyway. Then again, I'm turning a Koenig back to stock.

It seems to be a EU Vetro with wrong Wheels, Mirrors and exhaust.
But beside that, the bumper is original for this model.

Okay. It's an '82 "Glass Tribute". Steel car with filled in rear panel and bumper/light mods to look like a euro dry sump glass car.

Did they grind in the seam on the A pillar for the full effect?

    Regarding early rear bumpers...

Here are pictures of my spare 1976 US market rear bumper. Note the metal trim along the top length and the rubber side trims screwed to the bumper instead of the body. Also, it protrudes 1/2" less than later carb car bumpers and has short bolts since the aluminum spacers were not used until the injected cars came along.

Hutch didn't know: Is that a fiberglass car bumper with reflectors where the back up lights go? Seems like it must be.
