Or is the seller a tad optimistic? Or is it a typo? A great find on my behalf whilst searching for Ferraris for sale in Europe. Never expected to find one of these......... http://www.autoscout24.it/Details.aspx?id=172343972
Pretty bloody optimistic indeed it seems to me... "Tad" is an over statment [edit] perhaps one of the more OVERPRICED F-cars on the market... a 250 GTO would make this look cheap - hence the edit
I think the Euro is headed down to those levels, if the big guys can't figure out solutions for Greek, Spanish and Portugese national debt
Being that there were truly only "a handful" of these cars made, It's possible that price isn't exactly a typo. This is much rarer than a 288 GTO, F40, F50, Enzo, and even 250 GTO!
Super rare car, and a important car for Ferrari to say the least. Odd that the owner calls it a "288". Technically there is no 288 anything....

Thats not amazing, thats insane...yes, its rare and there were only three built, but 750mil!!! I dont think so. I definitely think its worth more than 750,000, so not sure thats the typo. I even think that 7.5mil is too much.... But what do I know.... I dont happen to think its ugly...I think its one serious piece of kit though!!! PDG
Doesn't one of these reside on the machine shop floor at Maranello? Been a few years ago but it's hard to forget that car!!
1000 lire was worth about 1 euro, hence the typo. Though the car is for sale is in Belgium, strange. Worth a try to further confuse the seller and buy it for 750 .
I caught the Belgian number as well. That phone number is literally only a few digits away from my old cell phone number from when I lived there. PDG
750K euro is an optimistic asking price IMO. The idea that this is the most valuable Ferrari is silly.
Exactly what I thought when I looked at the photos. This car does not looke close to a real Evoluzione. If you pull up the front end photo of the car in the link and put it next to the photo of the Evoluzione in this thread, you will see many distinct differences. Some include side mirrors, tow hook slit in the front bumper and the width of the car. The interior gives it away too. The interior in the link car is not even close to the interior of a real Evoluzione.
Evo was the Gruppe B homologated race car, IIRC. 288 was the road-going version, upon which the race car had to be based. Gruppe B was cancelled before it ever got off the ground due to liability and concerns about spectators. Designed to compete against the Ford RS, Renault R5 and a few other "limited" production vehicles. Porsche 959 was also a Gruppe B design. Stillborn became the test bed for the F40. CW
