Just noticed pitting on the #7 liner only. Was the only one borderline when measuring all of them. Is it done? I can feel some of the pitting with a fingernail. Is this caused by coolant?

    Thanks for the help.

If it is pitted and you can feel it the rings cannot seal well no matter what you do. So yes, if you want a good motor it is garbage.

If the pitting is all the way around that liner, my guess is coolant leaking into the port from the inlet manifold gasket. Change the liner and check the manifold gasket (maybe change both gaskets after cleaning the faces. If you pm me your address I'll post an oring for the bottom of the liner.

Thanks for the info Brian, Derek I have a complete gasket set at the ready, but thanks for the offer. Just wasn't anticipating this.

Brian if I recall you did your 328 engine. Were the pistons and rods to your specs, or a matched up stock size? Do you sell these things?

    Thanks again

    No I don't sell them.

I did a stroke and bore with Wiseco 10.7:1 pistons, Crower rods made to fit some Honda racing department bearings we had a chance to get. We bored and replated the alloy liners. Nothing is standard size.
