I was told the Ferrari diagnostic tool is impossible to come by... Here is one unit for sale on ebay for $25000 http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Ferrari-SD2-360-550-575-ENZO-F50-Diagnostics-Tester_W0QQitemZ140131374661QQihZ004QQcategoryZ43989QQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem
They were selling for over $35,000 before the new SD3 testers came out. From my understanding Ferrari isn't supposed to sell them to the general public so they are very hard to find and they are very expensive. I know a couple of people who have them.
I saw that the other day. It is rather tempting, but at 25K it is a little high. I passed on two about 4 months ago that were going for 15-18K (used).
If I own a 360 right now I probably would be very tempted to buy a unit together with bunch of guys locally. Maybe a group share thing. It should come in very handy especially when I plan to DIY service as much as I can on my own.
I believed the car was OBD compatible, hence you could use a standard tester for Bosch and Magnetty Marelli electronics, like used for testing an Alfa Romeo. F1 gearbox electronics is in principle the same as the Salespeed from Alfa Romeo. or am I wrong?
You really want SD3 instead which can also be had at http://nicksforzaferrari.com/forzaferrariwebsite1_002.htm for about the same price. It is a much nicer unit and includes the latest data including F430 I believe.
