Sadly, my Mondial is for sale. The listing says it all: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=260590866777 It makes me ill to sell it but the writing is on the wall. The tough economy doesn't help either, hence, the low starting bid, sans reserve. I keep the car on a lift in my garage. My wife calls it "the piece of art that just sits on a shelf". I realize she's right. I know I haven't been very active on the board lately but life's been busy with too many other things. At least my Fchat claim to fame is authoring the "How to fix your Mondial Rear Windows ..." post. Yes, they are still going strong and can easily outrun the fronts! If anyone is interested, please take a look. Until next time...
Best of Luck on the sale! I would have added a little marketing note to the ebay post about how Ferrari prices are as low at the moment and sure to pick up in the future. How much was this car worth 2, 3, 4, 5 years ago? Certainly more than it is now and will probably return to that and higher...it sold for over $70k when new! Good points for a new, hopeful Ferrari owner to know about...
Well written and informative ad. Nice colour and interior too. How it should be done. Agree with Till, no need to depart .
Beautiful car. Very striking, and looks like you keep her clean and very well sorted. You're going to miss your Mondial. Even if you don't get to drive her much there's something pretty nice about having a small slice of Italy out in the garage. And, when the sun does come out, nothing better than putting the wife and the kiddos in the ferrari and going for a nice drive. Personally, I think the value of a nice ferrari (like yours) will outperform the financial markets over the next 10 years, perhaps even after holding costs such as insurance. There's a lot changing in terms of expanding wealth globally, particularly in Asia and India and Latin America that will increase the demand for iconic items of status such as a ferrari, even a 20 year old ferrari. Just my $.02.
I agree, it is a fun place. And you guys weren't too hard on me as a noob! I appreciate the good words - Thanks.
Sharp Mondial; wish I was in position to consider it...love the color combo. Good luck with the sale.
If it doesn't sell in a couple weeks, make sure you bring her out to Sam's ROE. A little exposure to other exotic beauties, a lunch at a winery and the general public won't hurt
Clyde - I'm not sure if I can make it to Sam's Run Out East. It may be too far for me to drive. It is, after all, TWO BLOCKS FROM MY HOUSE! I live in Cutchogue, home of Pindar Vineyard and the ROE's. I thought about it but have mixed emotions. If I go I may not want to sell it! Actually, every time I take it down from the lift, give it a wash to prep it for pictures, I get a renewed enthusiasm and keep the car for another year! Then my wife wonders where I've been all day (drivin' the twisties!). I've even thought about going and sticking a "For Sale" sign on it but that seems tacky. Most everyone in attendance already have their own F car (or other exotic) and the "lookers" I get will be all liquored up from the wine! Just kidding - You guys don't drink wine at this event, do you?
Agreed. That was very well bought. I love that color combo. Blue looks great on a Mondial. I was a watcher on Ebay. If it would have been up for sale a few months from now, I would have gladly paid more. Couldn't do it right now, but a Mondial is in my future.
