Probably a great idea imo... Honestly, if tesla would have sold it's platform and tech and not try and manufacture cars (which is not easy, as they have found) would be a brilliant business scheme. Mass production of cars is not easy to perfect - knowing that many are still working on it... after 100+ years :)

Why wouldn't Fiat/Ferrari utilize the tesla tech, arguably the best electric tech in the industry at this point. They can't utilize anything from Audi/Porche/VW/Lambo - as they wouldn't consider selling anything to Ferrari. (You bet Lambo will get it).

So unless Ferrari ramps up their own electrical/new tech division (which will take a while for larger volumes), they better leverage learning from someone, and quick. Specifically if they see downward pressure on the F8, and the need of it on the next hyper or supercar specifically with McLaren, Porsche and others have brought this out on a few and deepening the performance gap - they will want to have something quickly, likely more mass market. Probably not a quicker way to do it than with Tesla, which also probably needs the cash and marketing - win win for them.
