As being my first Fcar, I do not know whether or not no my climate control unit is bad or working as it should. I always set my flow direction to the vents however evey time I turn off the air and turn it back on or turn off the car, the vent selection doesn't light up to the vents. I have to turn the dial and turn back the vents before it light up again. Basically when I turn on the blower nothing lights up. Just the temperature knob and blower knob. Can anyone confirm if this is normal operation?

I have never noticed whether or not the lights are lit but I can tell you that the climate control seems to have a mind of its own. Regardless of where you leave the vents, sometimes they will blow out the center when you start the car, sometimes they will not and you have to turn the knob away from the center and then back to get it to work, and occasionally it doesn't matter how many times you turn the knob or fiddle with the settings, it's just made up its mind that it's not going to blow out of the center vents, period. That is normal operation for the climate control system. You basically have to rotate the vent control selector knobs every time you start the car to get the vent selection knobs to light up. Like vdj3 said " Italian engineering at its finest"
