I am a new pilot, I don't post much but I like to read about aviation, I have been lurking here for quite some time. When I first started to visit this site it had a fair amount of activity, but now it is very sparse. I appreciate the work of those who got this going but I have to ask; Is this site dead?
    Thanks,
    Randy

It appears that you are correct. Those who frequented the forum have left and no longer participate. I have tried to keep an interesting input going but I'm old and my contributions reflect a time that has passed. I'm not well informed or current with the modern genre but I still enjoy the inputs of those who fly now even if I don't know the lingo sometimes.

I stopped putting effort into it a couple months ago, will be moving it to FerrariChat.com lifestyle section soon. Most of the users here are from FerrariChat.com and there are already more aviation posts there already.

Sad to see, really, as in terms of construct and overall design, I think this is one of the neatest and cleanest forums around.

It was good chatting about the good times I had when I was flying and I can't believe now how far back it goes. I had some unique experiences even though I accomplished absolutely nothing but a private pilot's license. I flew when it was uncluttered by FAA, everybody suing every body else, and technobabble. It was freedom and joy with those of the same ilk.
I would keep going but as I said, my tales are getting long in the tooth.

I will move all posts over, so we definitely won't loose anything, but I doubt your post count here will add on to FerrariChat.

Two fellas on FChat who are well-known for their "post whore" antics on the site.

So I hope no one is mad about me moving AviatorChat to FerrariChat. We could keep it around limping forever, I don't mind the money aspect. I'm not mad about the over 1,000 users that can't find time to just post once a month, that would mean 35 new posts a DAY!!! :) I believe on FerrariChat.com the aviation discussions will be rejuvenated and there will be more and better activity!

I'm sorry to see the forum go and just when I am getting back into aviation. I've always liked fast cars. I may not get a Ferrari, but instead build a Fatory Five GTM Supercar. I may be joining you guys over at Ferrari chat. I'd like to thank everyone for their suggestions and help.

    Blessings,

    Mark T.

Not mad, but I will say that I'm disappointed and saddened at the apparent demise of this board. Not being an exotic car affectionado (I did have a '68 400 Firebird ragtop and a '73 340 'Cuda in my younger years, though) I rather doubt that I would go over to F-chat to maintain any dialogue.

To those I have corresponded with via this board, I thank you for the opportunity to exchange ideas. To those I have been able to provide help or enlightenment, you're welcome. To those I may have inadvertantly offended, tough tarts! :)

Anyway peace be with you all.
