Is this the engine oil temperature sending unit?

    I believe the oil temp unit/thermistor is out of the top of your photo, along the edge of the oil sump cover.

    What you have circled, if I can read the diagram right is listed as the "SPEEDO IMPULSE UNIT".

    But I'd recommend a second opinion :)

    Correct- that is the speedo unit.

    The oil temp is threaded into the crank sump right next to where the shift shaft (with rubber boot) enters the sump. It's the brass hex with the wires snapped in to it.
