    Agreed.

What about the Shah of Iran's ownership too, is that established?

This is not the same car. The one pictured with the Shah is #3303 if I am not wrong.

Go it, sorry, I was confused! For some reason I thought they borrowed his car...

Gentlemen, congratulations! This is an exceptional thread. In my opinion #3586 is most certainly the same movie car. Indeed, if I may suggest an explanation for the white headrest / black seat discrepancy, this is most probably due to having used for filming purposes a Lamborghini tester's seat (swapped from one car to another while testing before delivery to a client, in order to leave the actual seat - obviously white as the headrest in this case - perfectly untouched).

This is also the theory we came to. The other would have been that the seat was not ready for the shooting but it is unlikely.
Funny to think that the first owner probably never heard about the life his car had before he took delivery of it !

#3303 is "rosso" and not "Arancio Miura"...

#3586 is the 1st Miura to wear that color and the next "Arancio Miura" is VIN #3778 delivered 29th November 1968

PROVA BO 296 test plate clearly seen on a Miura S on page 75 of the Coltrin/Marchet Miura book.

This thread should get more interesting with this recent Daily Mail story at http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-3005972/The-Italian-rescue-job-Iconic-Lamborghini-classic-film-46-years-no-mafia-DIDN-T-throw-cliff.html plus Octane Magazine having a feature story on the Italian Job Miura in their May 2015 issue due out shortly...

I am happy to see that the car finally has the coverage it deserves.

Fascinating read. In the article it states "Perhaps the most committed opposition comes from classic car broker Simon Kidston...". It'd be interesting to hear his thoughts on the subject.

I believe the author has judged Kidston's argumentation wasn't really convincing and based on speculation more than real fact...

Also you should be aware that Kidston had the car for sale for a while without selling it... what another did instead of him => Kidston - 1968 Lamborghini Miura P400

Also, if you pay attention to the last sentence of Kidston's description, it is very strange he mentionned deliberally the song "...on days like these..." for this specific #3586 and never did on any other Miura he offered...

Yes let's the Public decides... as Joe mentioned...

Yes well I will agree it is indeed very strange!
Interesting also to learn that Lamborghini has a "heritage department". Enrico Maffeo must be part detective, part magician pulling rabbits out of a hat.

Enrico has a long inside experience, when I met him back in 2008, he was in charge of sales for European markets, then later he was in the Carbone Dpt and in January 2015 last time I had lunch with him, he confirmed me his new responsabilities.

I wish him to succeed with this challenge !

The same Kidston that opposed the provenance of the Sinatra Miura I discovered, proclaiming that it was owned by a "Doctor" Sinatra instead?

The same Kidston who made an about-turn and later himself announced the same car as the Frank Sinatra Miura? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=otpSVJyXUKs

    That Kidston?

    Don't worry, he'll come around.
