Excellent ! Can't wait to hear it roar again through the Grand Saint Bernard pass.
How nice that you respect the opinion of Simon Kidston. This would be the same Simon Kidston who continues to lie about his own Miura being the last one made despite a myriad of evidence that proves otherwise hmmmm ? Yes yes what a credible witness he must make. As for why he disputes this as the Italian Job car - just off the top of my head I can suggest 3 thoughts. i. He advertised the car previously and could have made more €€€€ so doesn't want to look a fool. ii. He proclaims to be a Miura expert and doesnt like it when other people find out info he didnt know ( eg he has a track record for trying to dispute other people's findings, the sinatra miura for example). iii. There's nothing in it for Simon Kidston.
Nick, you remind me of the man Ferruccio Lamborghini himself - he never minced words Meanwhile, in more important news, my wife scored me a pair of 1965 Renauld's sunglasses off EBay and they are being restored as we speak! Image Unavailable, Please Login
well part of that statements a compliment - so thank you Joe its true what I said though, or appears to be Mr Kidston certainly seems to pick and choose what he wants to be true based on whether or not it benefits Mr Kidston.
Joe,you look good in that picture, Also ,cant wait to see Kidstone s freshly restored, back to green, LP 400 , hopefully with white interior.
Sadly no, here he is in one of the greatest (sports car) movie intros ever. Please note white leather seats... [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2zg8PWdVWM0[/ame]
Dont know if he is the actual owner, just commenting based upon his blogs in various magazines, the red car from last years Monterrey, used to be green, and sounded like it was originally purchased by the same Italian industrialist who owned the Black/white miura, wich he sold back in 74 to take delivery of this early Countach.also some great posts seeing the car being taken apart to the smallest detail on Kidstones website.
I'm pretty sure news of 3586 being for sale is new - apologies if I missed an earlier mention The "Italian Job" Miura
From Stanzani's collection here is a framed letter dated 1970 that authorised him to drive any vehicle bearing PROVA plates on behalf of the company. At that time these were: BO 241, BO 296, BO 331, BO 380, BO 348 and BO 383... Image Unavailable, Please Login
Just updating this thread with the news in many on line articles that #3586 has been certified as The Italian Job Miura by Polo Storico.
Thank you for doing that, fabulous thread and research work done by eb911, it's worth going back and reading all 7 pages.
Worth to mention you that Eric contacted me in september 2014 in order to have another vision to his investigations in order to confirm it was or not the original car movie despite whole his analysis well performed about the interior differences… as he published 7 pages. My contribution (full production docs analysis, period documents, interview of period personnalities including Pussich, Moruzzi, Stanzani and Sgarzi) sealed the conclusion with his side of cosmetics analysis. Since the file compiled by Eric with 7 pages raised to 12 pages including my contribution. Then, my 4 years with my friend Iain Tyrrell sharing #3586 raised the file up to 16 pages with additionnal interviews and investigations, now in the hands of my client who bought it last year. Here our team at La Tuile tunnel back in september 2016... Image Unavailable, Please Login
This info remains confidential in the sales contract You can ask the current owner if he wishes to answer you…
To someone who cares about the film, priceless. That said I can see this car properly presented bringing multiple times the value of a standard P400 at a prominent auction.
