Running like a new car... even the tire pressures were perfect today when I checked them.

 

Running....leaks a little coolant under pressure, but other than that, no issues.

Took my 4 year old daughter out in the 348 today. Top down. Perfect temperature, mild breeze.

Bought some Icees. She digs them (well, OK, so do I). Picked up Japanese food for the wife. Drew a crowd grabbing the Icees.

Parked out in the boonies to grab supper; had cars parked all around us by the time our food was ready (what, there isn't parking somewhere else?!).

Got the basic questions from passers by such as "what year is it" and "what model is it" and "is it fast" and "is it fun" which my daughter usually answers before I do (she's a talker).

Managed to spin the tires shifting into 2nd to merge with traffic, quite by accident (oh yeah, right).

Life is good.

 

Oh man, you've *got* to add the automatic tire pressure sensors. $70 or less now...gives you tire temp and pressure in realtime as you drive...has warning beep if the temp goes too high or the pressure goes too low. Very cool (and safe!).

So what, am I the only one posting a non running car? How does one determine if its actually non running? I had it running until yesterday, then I started taking it apart again. If it runs again tomorrow, did it ever actually not run? Well, you try pulling the front header off a 308. I have so much crap taken apart I will probably just pull the motor. Maybe it will run by the next weekend?

 

Then why did you post non-running then if you really dont give a toss about it?

 

Maybe you should have included ‘Running, sort of’ in the poll?
For the past week that’s what my car’s been doing, as I’ve had a rash of something plugging up the idle jets in the carbs. And a boxer with plugged idle jets is only ‘sort of’ running at best!
The last thing I found, before returning to this ship a few days ago, was something that looked like a tiny rock, except not quite like a rock. So I looked with a magnifying glass and it looked like part of a bug. So I put it under a microscope, and it was the bony little head of a tiny beetle, or maybe an ant, tiny little mandibles and all!
Go figure!
So I left my car in the garage, sort of able to run, with another plugged idle jet awaiting my return in a couple months.
Honestly I’ve no idea how this thing or things got in there, past 3 fuel filters, to lodge in the idle jets.
Maybe I need to spray some Raid down the carbs before starting it next time!

Yeah, I think we need to clarify this "running" thing a little better. Like, does running actually constitute being able to move under its own power? Or like going down the street snapping and popping and smoking, is that running? If I can start it momentarily in the garage, without wheels, deck lid, or interior, can I still make a claim? If so, mine runs. Sorta.

 

Neither of mine are running and haven't been for years.

 

Just finishing off the cam belts on mine. Not running at the mo', but will be at the weekend.
