    Looks like my wife and I are heading to Venezuela (Isla de Margarita) at the end of April. We're staying at the Margarita Hilton most likely (still deciding between a couple of places). Anybody have any tips for the trip? We're going to figure out a way to Angel Falls (either day trip, or a 3 day trip at the end).

    I realize that the political climate isn't the most stable right now, but a friend who's family lives in mainland Venezuela says things should be fine, just stay away from the major cities if there are demonstrations, and avoid protests.

    Can't wait to hit the beach!

    Yeah, it's a nice place. Lots of beaches all over the island--rent a car and explore. Prices are dirt cheap as well.

    The Hilton has really nice pools and a casino, so there's plenty to do all day and all night.

    Angel Falls is in the middle of nowhere. Go with a reputable charter company.

    Caracas sucks--it's even worse than New Delhi, which is a pit.
