Do you suppose it's something that started with the Isleros? Just a thought (until somebody posts factory-original red covers for a 350/400GT)

    Janpiet,
The Islero factory brochure shows "candy red" cams cover, not red...

I don't think it is original, as it doesn't prove it is a "tuned engine". I had #6300 in "my hands" without red cams covers and with a fully tuned factory engine. When you will have your next valves adjusment please call me... I will come and check mysef to know the truth.

    Regards,

The engine in that picture looks non factory original in a number of details so it might be a stretch to say the red covers are original don't you think?

White ignition wires flopping all about, black rubber fuel lines with clamps etc.

The new owner of this car is a gentleman who knows a lot about Isleros having owned one previously and I am sure this car will soon be looking a lot nicer!

    Hi folks,
here are last update about #6009... floor panels replaced, front mask finish, hood and rear lid renovated, new door panels, 4 new bottom fenders and so on.

So by the end of Januray, the racing modifications will be finished and it will be ready for next step => bodypaint shop.

With all this time consuming... I don't think it'll be ready for this year Le Mans historic... keep going cross fingers !

I didn't shoot a closer pic, but I'm asking the handcraft workshop to send me several... as they are 600 kilometers away from my base in Brussels.

Thanks, unfortunately my guy hurted himself with a tool... so my restoration schedule is over... #6009 will never be ready for this year Le Mans Classic !

For the one in Europe who is expecting to buy a very nice Islero, here is #6153 with a clean and clear history...

    Asking price is 120.000 € or 168.000 US$
This is realistic for this original car (never restored or resprayed) still with original Italian title.
It was kept in a warm garage, regurlaly serviced, low mileage 59.000 km, only 2 owners, full history file.

    Good morning Olivier,
Great to see! The Islero is finally starting to gain some serious respect.I believe they will achieve status very close to the 350/400 series. What are your thoughts?

I agree with you Islero starts to gain more serious respect from collectors, as many people came to me recently to buy one or to sell their car...and I'm not a trader, much more a free advisor !

As it was already discussed on this Forum, there is a gap between Lambo V12 front engine and supercars like Miura & Countach.

One evidence to keep in mind : there are more people who can afford a car in the average of 100.000 € up to 250.000 € than from 250.000 € up to 400.000 €, pyramidal budget restriction !

Thus I believe Isleros with a very nice history fully documented as well as #6000, 6006, 6009, 6027, 6153, 6201, 6288, 6300, 6402, 6432 and 6558 to make a first selection of wanted Islero leads me to believe they will reach within one or two years 150.000 € up to 200.000 € as they are exquisite to drive, low production figures and similar period to F250 GTE and F330GTC.

My opinion is not linked to the fact I own #6009 and could expect such market quotation but I just observe and listen. I know Jarama will never reach these price level, as I own one too I don't care...

    it may looks pricey today
but given its history, Kms, conditions i would say it would be a good buy

Some of the front engine V-12 cars have done well, over the last five years. Aside from the LP400, most of these cars have surpassed the value of the typical Countach.

    *Islero

*With the Islero, my guess is the car may be stolen, if it is sold at the wrong auction. Quite often, you have few Islero cars available for sale, and few buyers. The yellow/tan Islero, was recently sold for a bargain price. A few years ago, a red and black restored car sold on the Bay, for 39.9K. I believe that was around 2007 ? A running driver just sold for less than 50K.

    supply and demand

I believe the Islero is undervalued, and at the same time undiscovered.

    Agreed.

However, the Jarama offers so much for so little.

    ouch

You will need some coin, to restore that car.
