Kevin, your point is good, but I misexplained the sense of my 1st idea. I meant at 1st that Marcel's table should have one more column in order to compute how many cars were identified in this table. Then it just shows the identified number Islero he/you/I/Lou have identified, nothing else ! I was not speaking about what they worth... and wasn't making a link in betwwen the number of survivors to a ratio of market value.
We had a beautiful dry sunday and I decided to take the Islero for a ride. As always a fantastic time. Then a friend of mine joined with his Alfa coupe Bertone. Much to my surprise, he explained me that Mr. Georges-Henri Rossetti lived a couple of kilometers from our place, so we went in front of his house (I don't know if he's still alive) and then he showed me the former Lamborghini showroom that he had in Boudevilliers in the 70s which is now a Citroen dealer. For those who know the place, it is just incredible to imagine a Lamborghini dealer in such a small village! I didn't know I lived so close from part of the Lamborghini history!
Eduard, the Leimers should also be near you, Christian Leimer the son of the former lambo owner still lives there and they have still lambos. BTW. marcel and me try to identify the crashed cars, so far we were able to track down Squadra Rolana of Rolanaflor formerly located in Reichenburg. The owners the brother Kistler both bought their isleros at foitek.
Raymond, What can you tell us about late de Siebenthal ??? if I remembered correctly he had so many crap & wrecked Lambo in his warehouse, pilled on each others... what happened to all this ?
Unfortunately I don't know much about de Siebenthal, he had a yellow Islero there, don't know more, the picture was posted here some time ago.
Theres a thread about Siebenthal in the vintage Ferrari section http://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/showthread.php?t=269666&highlight=siebenthal . Some of the Ferrari numbers were noted down but so far no one who did this for the Lamborghinis At this moment Ive only 2 Lamborghini reported as at Siebenthal scrapyard, the yellow Islero GT, pictured earlier in this thread, and the 350GT pictured in the Siebenthal thread. Quoting Marcel Masini: More than ten years ago De Siebentahl sold all the remaining bits and pieces, engines, gearboxes and stuff to Piet Roelofs, the restorer in The Netherlands. Two trucks full of parts.
Marcel Massini also mentions a Miura and a Jarama on this thread: "The black-white photo shows a 330 GT 2+2 in the right corner (foreground), in the back is 0048 M. The color photo shows a French registered 330 GT 2+2 Series One. Chassis number unknown. Besides all the Ferraris I saw on this scrapyard also other makes such as Lamborghini Miura, Panther De Ville, Maserati Khamsin, Ghibli, Merak and Mexico, several Mercedes 600 short and long wheelbase (Pullman), Mini Coopers, Triumph TR4 and TR5, Chevrolet Corvair, De Tomaso Mangusta and De Tomaso Pantera, at least two Rolls-Royce Phantoms, several Jaguar E, MGB GT, all sorts of Alfa Romeos, AC Cobras, BMW 3.0 CSi, Lancia Flaminia and Fulvia HF, Mercedes 280 S Coupé, 300 SL Gullwings, Chevrolet Camaros, Fiat Dino Spiders and Coupés, Aston Martin DB 2/4, Lamborghini Jarama and Islero, Ford Mustang, and on and on."
I've just asked Marcel M. about the Lambos sitting there... The gentleman I bought my Miura from owned a LP400 Periscopa in the 70's. He was playing in the Alps without fear and borrow the driver seat to one of his friend. Unfortunately, the inexperienced driver wrecked the Countach.... De Siebenthal bought it as it was !!!
There is a nice Islero article in the January Sports Car Market issue. Donald Osborne comments the sale of 6432 and adjusts the Islero's "investment grade" from "D" to "B". Image Unavailable, Please Login
#6024 stands at Paris in a small workshop. Restoration already started, bodywork is ready for paintshop, but owner changed his objective and is willing to sell it as it is ! If you want to buy contact me by PM or to my direct email : [email protected] Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
Edouard, Can you check with Mr. Burnier the VIN of the silver Islero on the lift? He told me the VIN plate is not with the car, but there is still the engraved number on the front frame. Unfortunately for me, another car was standing under it, reason why Burnier did not put it down...
Here is a nice (yet somewhat distorted) drawing from the 1970 Motor Trend Yearbook. Here is what they say about the Islero S: "Tha Lamborghini Islero is one of the most enduring appearing 2+2 designs on the Continent, as well as one of the fastest.". Image Unavailable, Please Login
For the ones who didn't know MARAZZI converted its Islero & Jarama production in armoured vehicle sector : http://www.marazzicar.com/en_1.html I'll have a closer look at... and probably will try to meet Mario Marazzi !
Hi Olivier, I've tried several times to contact them, without any result. I hope you'll be more lucky than I was. Ed.
Btw, here is a link to a scan of a sheet that was included in a Marazzi press kit. You can see both an Islero an an armoured Alfa! http://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/showpost.php?p=140202945&postcount=262
I have an introduction who met him back in 2008 for the 45° LAMBOPARTY, when I was not awared of his presence in the "crowd".
Apologies for the off-topic... Em42 Could you give any info about that 2600 Alfa Sprint Shooting brake that appears in the motor trend scan on answer 789? Thanks in advance!
Unfortunately I haven't got very much. There is only one caption which states: "This unusual Alfa was designed by Bertone for the Expo Fair in Canada. The rear end styling is a certain eye-catcher and is not only aerodynamic, but allows for good visibility as well. This car may go into production in 1970."

May be yes... I remember back in August 2007 in my quest for #6009 I inspected it with Marco Degraaf, Maranello garage, #6348 was in worst conditions than #6009. It sold then 2 days later after my visit for 45.000 Euro... Looking at #6024 offered today at Paris for 47.000 Euro with the bodywork & chassis already improved, repaired and ready for paintjob... it is a real bargain !!! Guys, don't miss this real opportunity, #6024 won't be available too long... just pay attention to the nice raise of prices for our good front V12 Lambo...
