Hi Olivier, I saw you yesterday at Rétromobile but too far to call you and then I didn't find you later. I asked some news to the restoration company who sold this car but they told me the new owner wanted to keep discreet, so no possibilty to open the hood or check odometer. I saw the crack on paint near front light, so it doesn't seem that 6099 changed that much since I saw it in 2009. Technical check still stuck in 2005. How much this car got valued during last 5 five years without too much effort ? when you shoot these pictures, it was at Chateau du Sud Ouest... engine was not running... because some parts of starter were missing ! It was sold just below 80.000 . So, I agree with you that it is a better return on investment than stock market exchange...
right, after my yesterday's post I thought about this (reasonable) value, so 60.000 euros in 5 years, who wins ? The car was in fact located in Chateau de la Grenerie (close to Cahors / "aux chateaux du sud ouest" car broker) Image Unavailable, Please Login
No, it was sold new to Lamborcar in Italy, delivery 11th june 1968, grigio scuro/senape. The seller argued it was always in France, untrue, it was imported from Italy to Germany as Raymond pointed, to finish in France untill now...
Looking for pictures of the 1972 Geneva exhibition, I found this pic and pay attention to it... It was shoot in October 1968 at Paris exhibition... You can see easily the interior of the Islero is clear like beige or senape, but not black like my car. Looking in the factory records, I check which Islero was delivered 1st with a clear interior to VPM-France before the Salon de Paris ? The VIN is #6090 which was "rosso/senape", this is the Islero displayed in October 1968, not my car. Edmond Ciclet argued it was my car #6009 displayed for the exhibition, because after he wrecked it in mid June, he had to spent several weeks in Sant'Agata to have it repaired for the show... not true anymore because of this picture. I believe Edmond confused the 2x VIN #6009 vs #6090... So, one more clue solved... Image Unavailable, Please Login
Hello all, Did not have time to check the chassis number at Retromobile and did not realize that it was 6099... Here is a video of a short ride I had in it in Geneva in 2011 with Edgar Jean Mairet a wonderful mechanic well in his eighties, who retired in recent months. He worked on many important cars in Geneva through many decades. 6099 was then owned by a Dutchman who wanted to sell it. Sorry for the wind noise when I stick the camera out the window, now I know not to do it https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Iv1mx3pJ9Hc Always loved Isleros drove one in Florida quite a bit in 2004 or so. Best regards, Marc
#6153 is actually offered in The Netherlands => The Gallery Brummen Price unknown, but it was offered in Germany a year ago for 125.000 , so I'm guessing it won't be cheaper... Image Unavailable, Please Login
asking price now is 215.000 They also expect an Islero GT for restoration, I wonder which number it is and at which asking price.
Ferruccio's Islero at Amelia Island today... took first place in its class. Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
#6153 has just been sold for 215.000 ... a new record in Europe for an Islero sale, it was not at Gallery Brummen but at a fair in Germany. The expected Islero restoration project is VIN #6258, offered for 85.000 Islero flies in stratosphere nowadays... I'm excited to live 2014 Essen Technico Classica ! Good evening everybody, My name is Wolfgang and I am the proud owner of Islero 6411. We are at the end of an almost 2 years lasting restoration process and the car is almost finished. We are facing a braking problem and so far can not find the reason. While braking, especially at higher speed on the Autobahn the car goes to the right. We have controlled everything and renewed almost every part of the brakes and suspension. The brakes work very good and absolutely no difference between left and right on the dyno. The suspension has been adjusted twice according the prescription. Tires are new, springs and shock absorbers too, wishbones and tie rod as well. We don't see any obvious point. Any help and advise is appreciated. Wolfgang
where goes the exit hose for oil vapor underneath ? I know from Edmond Ciclet that if it is to close of a side brake, it has a direct influence... José Rosisnki, French journalist, tested Islero for the Jumy issue 1968 of Sport Auto and he complained for the same trouble ! He confirmed this was the reason why he wrecked Islero #6009, the 1st delivered in France back in 1968... my car today
Hi everyone, I just found those two period pictures. I guess they were taken in Italy. I wonder at which show? Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
Bologna? I believe Espada debuted there in 1968?? see pic and floor material Gary Espada 8394 Image Unavailable, Please Login
look yourself... which one is on the ramp and the other on the flat floor at Geneva ! Espada & Islero debuted both at Geneva, but Espada was on the ramp not the Islero. So, on Ed's new pics the Islero is on the ramp... Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
what are those 2 cool scale models of under the car? looks to be a BB boxer? are they from pinninfarina or some sort of buck for a go-kart? i had a chance to sit in the prototype boxer when visiting a designer friend that worked there. http://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/141425736-post960.html regards hf
