I think that's a well known car, Long time residing in US, recognizable from the air vent behind the front wheels. 6198 1969 2196 Yellow Tan John Campion, FL, USA. Previously Chuck VandenBerg, Michigan, USA.
Good to know! As far as I know it is the only Islero in Mexico in same collection as Miura 4866 and 350 GT 0361.
Nice to hear, as I know then another collector in Mexico with Miura, Interim and Diablo... a client of mine !
Cool. My old car. Those are the pics Jim took here in Mesa, AZ, when I sold it around 10 yrs ago. Ended up selling it to Drew Alkazar. Been wondering where it ended up. Heard it was going to be restored to original spec, but I’m glad to see it retains it’s unique period side vents and fly yellow paint. At least they pulled the cheesy plastic side mirrors.
Here is 6318 for sale by John Barnes (at his home) in the UK in 1982. Also 6510 at Maltin's in 1979, on Lebanese plates. John www.stradabiz.com Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
Do have any news on 6510? Since that's the info I have: 6510 1969 50166 Brown Mustard Consigned to Grand Garage des Nations on Oct 7, 69, Engine in the Netherlands, Car seems to be destroyed
My notes just say 'engine in 6606'. What fun my Dad and I had photographing the car in Maltin's storage yard. It was a mess - and got worse over time as they had nowhere to store it inside (like so many of the other cars there). John
Right. It was (Many years ago) in Henley-on-Thames. Long-since closed. Innes Ireland worked there for a while in the late 1970s / early 1980s... George Harrison was a regular customer.
When I took that photo in 1978, I was so annoyed that the headlamp pod was sticking up... But now it makes it one of my all-time favourites ! John
Just reduced the price on mine for sale quite a bit..... http://www.catsexotics.com/vehicle-details/1969-lamborghini-islero-s-lynnwood-wa-id-14807040 Image Unavailable, Please Login
..and here is 6435 again at the 2017 Goodwood Members' Meeting and a couple of months later in the workshop at Renaissance Classic Cars in Surrey. I believe the family sold the car in 2017 as the original owner is now in poor health and unable to drive it. A great shame. Doesn't the rear view mirror get in the way..?
