Amazing, I had no idea they were that expensive now. They didn't even design or make their own engine, sheesh!

When I was a kid, an Iso Grifo was my favorite Matchbox car. I still have it.

Amen!! +10000 It was a gorgeous dark blue! My match box is in a box in the attic, saw it just before thanksgiving.

Thoughts of that toy still make me say that I will buy a Grifo some day. But then again, I've told myself that someday I will own a 12 cylinder Ferrari

Most nice Grifo's and Bizzarrini's have been bought and sold through the Iso Biz network and never make it to the open market, so for the past two years the prices have been going up but not reported. last spring 7 liter cars were going for 160-190 This last fall RM auctioned a very nice series one Grifo and it sold for $250,000.00 nothing special, just a nice car.

The two Bizzarrini's at the same auction sold for over 500K but both had been badly damaged and rebodied, yet they still went for a good sum of money. There arn't many cars that look good from every angle the Grifo is one of them and the owners arn't worried about blue smoke coming out of the tail pipes! Dick Merritt who has owned many Ferrari's over the years has two Bizzarrini's for this exact reason.

For $250K one could a pristine 330 GTC or a perfect 246 GTS and have change left over.
But more power to RM if they can over-sell that car from the refridgerator company.

Guys like you have been throwing insults about Iso's for decades. Bottom line is they built very high quality cars with excellent engineering. Almost every car the refridgerator (sic) company built was able to outrun Enzo on the autostada. They made sno-mobiles too!

    Oh, I appreciate Grifos.
The statement was only relativistic fact.
Didn't mean to insult your feelings or instigate an autostrada duel.
    Love that jumpsuit...

Yes, I have that tiny model too and figured out that it is the model I have had the longest. I remember because my father ran Citroen Portugal back then, we lived there 68-74 in Lisbon and at the time when I got this model a client asked him if he coud help him get a real one so my father asked Citroen in Paris to help and a new Grifo arrived in Portugal. I never saw it though.

The newer, revised long nose is my favorite Grifo. Before they put that 2 foot X 3 foot plank on the hood.
Though my favorite Iso of all time is the Varedo.
Anyone have a picture of the Varedo?
I think it was at first painted silver then repainted in an unflattering red-black combo.

They also made one called the "Sno Ghia". It was a joint venture between Piero Rivolta & Alessandro DeTomaso.

Here is a picture of my Iso. It is one of the 2 Lele Marlboros modified by Bizzarrini and built for Iso's F1 Drivers.
This car is # 184 built for Howden Ganley, it was also the '73 Geneva Show car.

I missed out on a Girfo years ago at RM in Monterey. It sold for ~$35k which was too rich for my blood at the time. I could spend about $28k... still wish I had swung it. Worth alot now.

I have a line a on Rivolta that needs a little help now. Might move on it.

well during the the short time I had the targa I thought it was womderful apart from the the steering.... It was horribly "loose" and inexact. Much too american in my taste... BUT still A FANTASTIC CAR...

Yes, the steering is slow but it seems to work well, considering that there is no power steering it is very precise and comfortable at high speed. It is possible to change the box over to a quicker ratio. Some owners that have driven many of these cars have commented that after changing it to the quicker ratio they preferred the original slow box.

Somewhere north of 300K when all included....sounds a little over-valued to me.
