Anyone have issues with their rearview mirror coming unglued from the windshield and find a decent fix? Last year I drove out to Palm Springs and the car was parked in the sun for a few hours. Came out to find the mirror dangling from the wires. Dealer fixed it and it held for a year, but about six weeks ago the valet parked car in the sun and it was again detached. Dealer fixed it again...and Saturday came out for a restaurant after lunch to find it had come loose again. Anyone have this problem and get it fixed so that it held? If so, can you recommend the adhesive that you or your repair folks used? Thanks!
I've used this on other cars with great success: https://www.autozone.com/sealants-glues-adhesives-and-tape/adhesive/permatex-extreme-rear-view-mirror-adhesive/539670_0_0?spps.s=6081&cmpid=LIA:US:EN:AD:NL:1000000:GEN:71700000069889792&gclid=Cj0KCQjwktKFBhCkARIsAJeDT0huLXGbzkpQGFcawZ63N30D9mHMtutGMckFBEsUnKGxziTvRIaiQAkaAgWwEALw_wcB&gclsrc=aw.ds FWIW, YMMV! Jim, this happened on my 2006 612 a few months back. The Melbourne dealer said it’s not an uncommon problem, but their early attempts at a fix were not very successful. They now use a specialist windscreen contractor because the glue is a lot better. Mine has been fine since. Good luck.
