I have always lusted after a 246 however finances have not permitted me to do so! So when I had the opportunity to accompany as a passenger in a concours GTS I was absolutely over whelmed. I now know what all the fuss is about and why many will never sell their 246's. They really are an INCREDIBLE car It felt far quicker that my 328GTS, and the noise was to die for. I dare say the fact that it spins so freely differs the sensation to my 328. What more can I say It will definitely be my next Ferrari and those of you ever lucky to ride/drive one should take the opportunity - Be warned you will fall in love It is arguably the best value sports car I have ever been in One infatuated 246 fan
And more addictive! I still remember my first ride in a 246 GT---36 years ago this month. I was impressed by the large front fenders framing the view of the road; the view out the rear window, looking over the bump that covers the carbs; and the growl of the Dino four-cam. Today, after 35 years of Dino ownership (I got my first one nine months after my first ride), and 28 years of dual Dino ownership, I am still hooked. To steal a line from another high-performance auto manufacturer: "Nothing else comes close!" Fred
So true Fred - I also got to ride in his Miura but on a value for money the 246 is really an amazing car from a value perspective - Performance / Looks / Sound I can really appreciate why owners do hang onto them
