Was that really his car? At 6'4", I wonder how it fit him.

He also had a BB. In my opinion the bb would be my dream over the 308. His old malpaso estate which became a very high end residential area now has some really neat roads. Guy took me out for a ride in hist 246 but we would have to stop occasionally and waiting because sensors were set up to trigger alarm if transit times between points were too short. Only in multi million dollars, 20 years ago,

Problems with connection. The last line was to further read....calif gated estates. I feel better living in economically depressed central ny where we still have great roads with no one on them.

    That's a 328 interior, isn't it?

Eastwood had a 365 BB that was painted a very unflattering orange, more fitting on a modern Dodge. He sold the BB to Gene Hackman (also 6'4" and a Pebble Beach resident). It was for sale in the tiny showroom of Jack Ramsey's Monterey Ferrari when I ordered my '78 GTB. It took about a month before someone bought the BB. Ah, those were the good old days. I visited every dealership in SoCal before heading to Monterey. They all told me I would have to make a deposit, wait my turn and accept whatever color came off the boat in San Pedro, or step to the back of the line. There was no mention of the waiting time. Ramsey owned the stores in Monterey and Frisco, and he knew Bill Harrah. The lone salesman simply asked what exterior and interior colors I wanted and then said it would be there in 30 days. Three weeks later, the car was there for me to drive home! My cost was $33,000 which was 3,000 less than the lowest SoCal dealer price.

Eastwood also raced as did Paul Newman, although Newman was really good. Bruno Borri of Modena Sport Cars race-prepared their Ferraris. Bruno's office was festooned with photos of them as well as the competition 365 GTB/4s that he campaigned at Daytona. Yep, them were the days.

In 1986, I asked him to find me a 330 GTC. He said "Why, you got a better car (my 308)." He would always comment "Why you awanna buy a Ferrari when you can by a Chevy???" I introduced my mother to him and he bowed and kissed her hand. What a gentleman and a helluva mechanic.

Above, I should have typed Ray Ramsey, "not Jack."

No, it's definitely a 308 interior, with the toggles and sliders on the console. The two gauges ahead of the shifter mean it was around a 1981-85 308 (Not sure of precise date/years) The first carb 308s had the two gauges, oil temperature and clock, in a cubby on the left side of the steering column. Perhaps only for a year, maybe two, in 1980 and maybe 81 they were arranged vertically in front of the shifter; then for the rest of the 308 run they were side by side in front of the shifter as shown in that picture.

    Cheers,
    Gordon
