Please allow me a little latitude simply because I am so HAPPY!! I am the new team member at Sphere Motorsports!!!!
Thank you! My position will be shop porter, parts runner, mechanic's assistant and the overall upkeep of the entire facility and occasionally vehicle delivery, etc etc. At first I will be feeling out how the team works and how I can be an asset to them and concentrating on synergy.
Yes I am finally getting to live my dream and I cannot wait to start on Monday!! My short interview with Mark the owner and Kino the shop manager was easy going yet serious and they told me how important this position is for helping the shop run smoothly. Thankfully I already have rather vast experience in my required duties and hopefully the transition will be so smooth they will not notice (but will notice). Thanks for all the support.
Sounds great, the best sort of work is the kind that doesn't feel like work. I wish I could say the same.
My first job application in this field was at FoH when I turned 16yr's old in 1980 and I will be 50 this coming July so I just rounded off a tad. Thank you everyone for your support and well wishes and I love it at Sphere Motorsports. We are a very small team, with only four tech's at the moment including Mark, with a huge work load and this speaks volumes for not only the quality of vehicle service but the quality of our customer service. I am just honored that the Sphere team gave me a chance to show that I can be an asset and will work my butt off for them. Happy and SORE, Gregg PS, For those who mentioned they use Sphere I look forward to meeting you.
Glad they finally came around and you got the job you want, congrats again.....So does this mean law enforcement is being put on backburner for time being?
Good things come to those who are also persistent. No and yes but I would prefer to keep the focus of this thread on my career at Sphere . Today the techs got started on a 355 "belt job"... http://i27.photobucket.com/albums/c160/texasmr2/texasmr2049/140113_0000_zpsbaba0ac4.jpg and Mark dropped a Testarossa engine for service.. http://i27.photobucket.com/albums/c160/texasmr2/texasmr2049/140113_0005_zpsb1989448.jpg Good times!!
Today I was organizing exhaust systems in the storage area and I realized why Ferraris and Lambo's make so much horsepower, they need it to haul those heavy ass mufflers around!! Jeez some of them are at least 100+lbs, my back needs a vacation already LOL! Since we have approval to take pictures I will post pictures instead of links after I re-up my Silver subscription. I did a quick detail on a sweet 355 Berlinetta today as the owner was picking her up, I love the 355 but would prefer the Spider as they sound GLORIOUS. Oh I almost forgot that I finally met MOBILEJAY this week as he is there detailing a Phantom, damn those cars are HUGE!!
I have a feeling this thread will have numerous comments and pages mostly from me as I continue what will hopefully be a very long career with Sphere. Todays addition is that I got to drive my first F1 trans Ferrari, a 360 Berlinetta, although it was only about 50ft. I was hesitant but I quickly learned/realized just how user friendly the F1 system is to operate and frankly speaking I think it may be an easier car to drive in confined spaces than a manual as our shop is fully packed.
Todays thread addition is a short list of the vehicles I drove today, it was another great day. 1. Audi S4 Estate/6-speed. (not sure if it was a B6 or B7 or a B8 but it is sweet) 2. Both a Maserati Coupé and Spyder (4200 GT's) and both were Cambiocorsa. 3. Ferrari F355 Spider/6-speed. 4. Ferrari F430 Belinetta "F1". 5. Aston Martin V12 Vantage "Sportshift". 6. Ferrari 456M GTA. I love this car as it just "fit's" so properly. 7. Ferrari 512TR. I also detailed the car as the owner will be picking here up soon so here is a picture after the detail. http://i27.photobucket.com/albums/c160/texasmr2/texasmr2050/140116_0008_zpsc6e02111.jpg. 8. My neck, along with the rest of my body, is also getting a good workout constantly walking around this honey. http://i27.photobucket.com/albums/c160/texasmr2/texasmr2050/140116_0007_zps39251b1f.jpg We also have a McLaren SLR in the shop for wheel repair so I had to remount those heavy beast today as well. I hope Mark does not disapprove of me posting these video's? Please feel free to stop by anytime and meet the team. We also have a few cars F/S at any given time.
Let me just say once again how much I love my job as I had a few minutes behind the wheel of this beast yesterday. OMG the steering is so very heavy but once underway it is incredibly light and responsive. Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
