Mark your calendars, this is going to be a good one: http://doublekproductions.com/pdf/082810.pdf This is somewhat similar to last year's show in Naperville, but bigger and more elegant: Open to all Italian cars. No entrance/participation fee and lots of trophies. Here the pics from the Naperville show, expect this to be similar, but bigger and better. AFAIK Carla and her Lambo gang are committed to this one as well. All other details can be found in the PDF. The event will also be covered in Pilota and count towards this year's Gumball trophy. It's going to be tough to make this one. If it's anything like last year, I'm sure it will be awesome.

Beating me to it. I guess that's called home turf advantage. Congrats to Dave, Gerry and Pete for winning! The P4 is a Noble kit with an Alfa V6 producing about 300 hp for a 2,000 lbs car. It won Best of Show and is for sale (if interested send me a PM and I get you in touch with the seller). The print of Schumacher in the F1 Ferrari is signed by Houston racing artist Kevin Paige and was FOC's "thank you" to Kerry for putting all these great events together over the years. Sorry we missed, looks like a great time was had by all - I got half way there and realized the alternator wasn't charging.. even with the spare battery in the trunk there was no way it was going to make it there and back.. was really looking forward to seeing everyone i called Carla from the road to pass on word but got voicemail.. On the way back i saw lots of people having a terrible day though - Illinois State police had a random safety checkpoint at the Lake forest Oasis.. I saw at least a dozen impounds in progress.. one flatbed truck had three high end custom motorcycles strapped to it.. there were at least 12 state police on 94 before and after the oasis - and more than I could count on the northbound side in the oasis.. i hope everyone had fun, hope to be ready for the next event
I figured there is not enough electricity between North Chicago and Oakbrook to get the GTO here. I saw some of that too: Cop stopped an Alfa on I-83. As I was passing, the Alfa guy was waving at me as if to say to let his buddies know he'd be a bit late... Hope to see you and Haley at Hooters next Sunday. Might be a less busy show with Labor day weekend.
Some nice pics but, if I see 1 more Lambo with the Scissor doors open, I think I'll puke. They seem to have become a 'rappers' fad and are no longer unique. Many cars have retrofit aftermarket options for installment (eg. Chrysler 300 etc.), so uniqueness is void. Doors open ruin the overall aesthetics of the body configuration. When on display, everyone open their doors!!!!
I guess you wouldn't like it then if I'd had scissor doors installed on my 308? I love the looks of that, whether it's a Lambo or any other modded car. Only gullwing doors are cooler.
LOL, thanks I suppose. There was a guy here on FChat who wanted to make carbon fibre 308 doors (outside that is, my inside is already cf). I would have loved to get a pair, but the guy kinda disappeared again. With the current GTO direction I'm going, scissor doors wouldn't really fit into the picture. But I did consider them for a while. Years ago I saw a picture (not sure whether it was a fotoshop job or not) of a 308 with scissor doors and it looked awesome!
