This was one of four Italian bodied Cadillacs, not the 2-or-3 seater styled like Lanica 200PF, this looks like a 2 plus 2 very American styling, an ad I found says 1957 motor, 1959 body. looks like 2 plus 2, convertible top looks like Mercury turnpike Cruiser of 57 from side view,
The advertiser in the classified I found was placed by a Mr. Schwier, 342 Madison AVe. NY NY 10017 asking $5000. Ad does not have a date, but I amguessing in '60s.
Motor Trend had a picture of it here

Apparently there was a coupe version and a convertible version. The convertible I've seen pictured in either black or white. This ad is the only proof I had that any one of the four came to America. They called it the Starlite.

I'd like to know if PF built these four cars , each different, trying to get work from Cadillac but shouldered the buren themselves or if Cadillac, or GM, paid for them. I have to say they are quite boring designs so I don't think PF had any styling input so that would mean they were just building what Harley Earl told them to built but it's odd these four are so rarely mentioned. But if Earl (and GM) paid for them, I don't remember seeing them at auto shows. Then again, I was quite small then and after half a century....

The car you asking for is the 1958 2+2 convertible introduced to the 1958 Paris salòn, while the 2+2 coupè was introduced to the 1958 Geneva motor show.

In 1959 Pinin Farina bodied 200 Cadillac Brougham sedan and introduced to the Paris salòn the Starlight coupè (a showcar) with a plexiglass curved roof.

Thanks for your comment. The Lido is almost the same styling. I think they might have switched it to a Buick. I found an old undated ad for the Cadillac convertible where the owner in New York City wanted $5000 but I don't know the year, he said it was a '57 chassis with '59 engine. So I know at least one of the Pininfarina Cadillacs made it to America. Do you know if Pininfarina was doing the creation of these cars at their own expense or was Harley Earl of GM or GM itself paying for it?

Ironically the nickname of Lee Iacocca , former head of Chrysler, is "Lido."

It depends on the agreement. Usually, Pf bought the chassis to make a showcar to sale at the motor show and /or to stimulate a future production.
